Stripper Legal Problems

I got to thinking about this after seeing hat the porn star got popped at a club and the fuzz weren't trying too hard to convct her or her friend.

Anyway,

A few years ago, when Houston Dolls got raided, the owner hired a lawyer for the girls. That lawyer, understanding the local DA's office, advised the girls to plead guilty. He knew that the local DA's office prefers air tight cases, but also prefers to go after the big stuff, offering incentives for guilty pleas on misdemeanor cases (3-500 dollar fines, no jail time) and threatening heavy penalties if the DA's office has to actually try someone on a misdemeanor case.

I also happen to know that if a St. James girl gets popped for selling extras, she's on her own (and fired).

I wonder if you guys have any of your own local insights on this?

Sounds like a query for "Badd Jack". But alas, he has appeared to have gone underground for the time being.

Inside the club activities, extras, OTC, drugs are slam dunks for LE. Strippers have many other legal problems--drunk driving, drug busts, unpaid child support, eviction, debt collection suits, etc.-- that they will gladly hand over to any lawyer/customer dumb enough to take on a no-fee case while dreaming of free OTC action.

Many years ago I saw Marilyn Chambers at the old State Burlesque in Cleveland a week before she got busted for giving head to a customer during her show. I don't recall whether she ever did any jail time. If I have told this story in another thread . . .well . . . tough shit. I'm old. We do these things. Get over it.
Now what was I talking about?
