  The feature dancers rake in big bucks. But they cannot attain feature status without making some name for themselves in porn, typically.
  
  Doubt STDs lead to blacklisting, unless it's herpes or HIV.

  Over the long haul dancing is better money. The porn industry is in the toilet right now and rates for scenes are lower than ever. Don't be fooled by the numbers that a few stars like Jenna Jamison throw around. Very few women ever make that kind of money. Many women who do porn end up augmenting their income by escorting and by dancing. Again, Feature dancing does not pay the way it used to as the market is flooded and the econky has brought club attendance down.
  
  If a featuring porn star is available OTC the best way to find out is by reading the porn star section of The Erotic Review. Most girls will turn you down flat if you ask them in person.
  
  My ATF did porn in the late 90's. If she had been willing to get a boob job she could have featured for a few years and made some good cash. She decided to keep her small boobs and go back to house dancing and has done consistently well over the years.
  
  There is a difference between making a career out of something vs. trying to make big bucks for a short time. You CAN do both if you know how to handle yourself and the money.

  Yoda is right. The porn industry is in the shitter. Sales are down because there is so much free porn on the internet.

  It's an interesting answer to this one, it would be porn but only because the porn stars feature dance at strip clubs like someone said.

  Thanks Yoda for the advice. I know chances are very high that she will say no but I might go out anyways during the afternoon when it is slower, free cover, and free food. At least if she says no I will still a free meal out of it (still gotta pay for the drinking though).
  
  shadowcat, I agree that internet piracy has hurt the porn industry. The local video store wanted $65 for the Kim Kardashian sex tape and I downloaded it for free. But ironically the internet has also helped the porn industry create new income channels such as online video stores and online pay sites. Also more reviews for porn videos are published online, which if the reviews are good then it is free/cheap advertising for the porn video.

  I've read interviews where girls claim they only did porn so they would make better money feature dancing. I've never seen an actual porn star dance, though.
  
  Internet piracy has definitely hurt porn. I haven't bought a porn DVD in years, and rarely subscribe to a site. It's too easy to get it free.

  Most contract girls in porn are required to go on the road and feature dance in order to promote themselves & their movies. In fact, a lot of contract girls make a lot of their money by feature dancing since they usually don't make as many films as non-contract girls do. Contract girls are also required to do a lot of different types of premieres & fan autograph signings as well.
  
  The only porn gal that I know for sure will do plenty of "extra" work both ITC & OTC is Bree Olsen. She apparently bangs A LOT of guys...something to keep in mind if you live near her hometown of Fort Wayne, IN...lol...

  Both will be scarred for life and their future relationships will suffer. However the porn star is gonna be worse off from that point of view. So regardless of money id say stripping is "safer"

  Sam, I have a stock for you: LodgeNet Entertainment (ticker LNET, I believe). They're the ones who pipe in all of the porn into hotel and motel rooms these days. With hotel/motel occupancy way down, care to guess what's happened to their stock price?

  Porn feature dancing is the equivalent of a Rock or Pop singer going on tour. Most of their money comes from concerts not from record sales.

  First, jealous you get to see Jessica Bangkok, one of my favorites. But in answer to the question, porn stars overall SHOULD make more money.
  
  1) Money for their work
  2) Money from promotional appearances, in-stores, selling personal items
  3) Some will escort for big dollars because of their name
  4) Some go out and feature dance
  5) More than a few have made appearances in TV and movies
  
  The different outlets for income from a true porn star should equate to a better income. And there's no such thing as a "bad night". You do the scene (what, 2 hours unless it's a Vivid movie or something), and you get paid. Go to a signing and you get paid. Escort and you get paid. Feature and you get your cut. Just regular strippers may make a lot in a night, but then another night they could barely get tip-out despite putting in an 8 hour shift.

  LNET is currently trading near its 52 week high! 52 week range is 0.48-7.75 and it is trading at 7.50/share. Must not be doing too poorly.

  I believe they make more from escorting than anything else. Many strippers dance to recruit customers for their escort business. When I meet my GF for session, she says she doesn't not need to go into club that day bc of money she got from me. IMO most strippers do escort work whether its just a couple of clients are a whole assembly line itc. The strippers in a state of denial about this are the old hasbeen ROB's (a lot of them on SW) who know they are not going to get anywhere with a player.
