10 pm was too early on this Friday
This was the second visit of my Friday evening that started at Rick's Cabaret. You can read the review over there for more background, but basically I had not been downtown in Minneapolis since Covid and the riots. So my mission that evening was to see if I felt safe being in the area, and if the clubs had recovered from what must have been a rough patch for them.
Downtown Cabaret and Rick's are owned by the same management group, but there is a fair amount of difference between the two clubs.
I would have considered valet parking at DTC, but that was not available here either. I settled for the parking ramp next door, which is $8 for the special night rate. You could be a little vulnerable to a mugger walking out of the ramp, but it is has fairly good visibility if you keep aware. I chose to avoid the stairwell and the elevators and just walk down the same way I drove up. I saw a man and a woman walking on the sidewalk, so apparently people are feeling fairly safe. Didn't see anyone to be concerned about, and this was about 9pm. The advantage of this ramp is that it is only about 100' from the strip club entrance. One bad thing is parking in downtown Minneapolis pretty much has to be paid with a credit card, so your book keeping department is going to be alerted to your movements. Maybe if you bring 8 quarters for every hour you intend to park will keep you incognito if you park on the street.
