Not Vegas By A Longshot

Vegas Showgirls is at the corner of Broad and Sixth Streets in the old downtown area of Augusta. Broad Street was probably once the heart of the city around the turn of the last century, but seems a bit sketchy now.

The main entrance to the club is on Sixth, but there is also a door on Broad Street. There was a guy standing by the Broad Street door. I asked him which was the entrance. He opened the door for me, told the there was no touching and a one drink minimum. He didn’t ask for a cover. It turns out he was the DJ/bouncer, one of only two staff employees of the club, the other being the female bartender.

After entering the Six Street door there is a room with two pool tables, and past that, the entrance to the main club area. The bar is to the left, a rectangular shaped island stage to the right. Past that is s seating area with a small round stage used for “table dances.”
