Exceeded My Very Low Expectations
I had very, very low expectations for the is club. All of them were exceeded. Sometimes I think that people buy way too much into rumors on whether a town is good or bad for strip clubs. From time to time I end up near Augusta heading other places, and finally said what the hell and stopped over to see the two clubs left in town. Are they worth going out of your way for? Probably not, unless you just want to see something different. Are they the worst clubs ever? Far from it.
The setup for Discotheque is pretty basic. When you first walk in there will be one or two door girls sitting off to the left at high top tables. I think it was $5 to get in. The drink special was rail liquor, and I got straight vodka because the waitress said I had to buy a drink. The drink smelled like acid and tasted like machine lubricant, so it just sat there in front of me until I put it on a tray when the waitress walked by. They have a full bar, so I'm not saying their drinks are shit but whatever they were pouring on the drink special wasn't great. So far I was down $10 and not really seeing much to be anything but indifferent about. The waitress I mistook for a dancer, so it was funny (on the inside) when she was being so insistent about whether I was getting a drink. There was also a waitress on her first day who was obviously a waitress, so it took a moment to figure out why the older curvy brunette gal I thought was a dancer on the prowl was asking about drinks. When I walked in, I took a sit over in the far corner away from the bar back behind the door girls.
There is one large square main stage that is eye level when seated with no pole, and several smaller stages (maybe 5?) around the main floor closer to the walls. My first thought was it was strange that such a small club had so many side stages, but eventually I realized that those were the stages used for "private dances" that everyone could see. I noticed a blonde dancer who was on the tall side but still cute was dancing for a couple, and when I saw another dancer walk a guy over to one of the mini stages it registered that's what was going on. The dances on all stages were nude, so customers were getting good close looks at all the goods but there was zero touching going on.
The main bar was on the back right, and the place looked had a converted restaurant feel. The tables were small and round, the chairs were little metal chairs that were like cafe chairs as opposed to the upholstered armchairs seen in clubs like DV. Mirrors were prominent on the left and right walls to make the place feel bigger. Stage shows ranged from girls pacing back and forth while dropping clothes to some high energy booty shaking on all fours. There were mainly younger guys hanging around the club, and the dancers were whooping it up trying to keep themselves entertained. The music was being played from a jukebox even though there was an emcee calling out girls from a DJ booth on the far fall behind the stage. DJ was probably also the muscle, although there was a cop hanging around outside.
Stayed for about 20 minutes, mainly because there was a brunette over by the bar who kinda looked like Morena Baccarin and I wanted to see what she was about on stage. In general there girls were better looking than I expected. The best looking was an 8-8.5 and the worst was a 6 in my subjective view. I was expecting heavies and dogs from the reviews so was pleasantly surprised. Reyna was on stage as I walked in. Looked very hot from the back and cute from the front. White, dirty-blonde with a tight body. I thought about making the walk from the corner to the stage, but the youngsters at stageside were acting douchebaggy and I'm getting too old to put up with posing. Ruby was a black dancer and hot bodied chick you might want to hang out with, but she was a little higher energy than I was in the mood for at the time.
I visited Discotheque first, mainly because I saw the reviews that said a ticket from here would get you into the other club free of charge. It did, so for that alone this club gets a prop. The club isn't that big, but it's not a hole in the wall either. It's in a downtown building that is set up "main street" style, and there is head in street parking in front of it. The club is literally in the middle of downtown off a major street, so if you don't want to be seen don't visit. By the time Lila (the brunette by the bar) made it up for her 2 song set, I'd seen enough of the place an left for Vegas after tipping at the stage. Won't recommend the place, but if you're in Augusta what else is going on for nightlife? Between a random bar hookup and strip club I usually vote strip club.
