General downswing since IC/employee change
So this review covers a couple of different visits, both during the week (Thursday) and weekend (Saturday), and mostly I'm writing to give an update on the club since the recent switch from classifying dancers as independent contractors to employees. I've covered the basics of the club before so there's no real need to re-hash it in great detail except to say that the club is in a safe neighborhood (on Broadway in a heavily trafficked area of SF), the club interior is above average although not the nicest in SF (Penthouse across the street and Gold Club are nicer IMO), and it's a fully nude club which means that there's no alcohol.
To echo what some other posters have written recently, the change in classifying dancers as IC to employee has by in large had a pretty negative effect on the number and quality of girls who are dancing at the club IMO. I would have thought that given that the dancers are now considered employees, the managers could set a schedule to ensure that there was an adequate number of girls dancing on any given night. However, on the Saturday I went, there were maybe 8 girls max by the time I left (11PM). To give you an idea of how dead it was that night, a group of couples came in and the girls in that party basically doubled the number of females in the club. There were slightly more dancers on the Thursday I went (still less than 15), but in my estimation there were usually at least 15-20 on an average night last year and certainly at least 20-25 on a Friday/Saturday night. A few of the girls I've chatted with on these most recent visits flat out said that "a lot of the prettier dancers quit" after the change and everyone who's left is hoping that it changes back, which should give you a sense of the challenges that the club is facing.
Anyway, I still go to this club in SF since it's not easy for me to get out to other areas like Sacramento. There is still the possibility of some getting some decent dances although it's simply more of a challenge to find a good-looking girl with a solid ROI potential. During the last trip, I got regular dances ($40 topless only during the 2-4-1), which take place in an upstairs booth area, from a tall girl with long blond hair (name is the initials of a gun). Her dances were okay although a little rough and she was definitely trying hard with the upsell for more "private" dances in the VIP/downstairs area. She was very clear on the no-touch thing unless I went for higher-priced dances and I give her credit for being honest that the girls make most of their money from tips now since the club takes a bigger cut of all of the dances that get sold as opposed to the girl keeping most of the dance money but I'm not into the pity game to just give away money for nothing.
