^ Nice resistance to learning from your mistakes. It's always "messaging" and not the fact that the product itself sucks.

Here's a good sample of the left's pure, 24-karat cope.

@drew - that's been a constant for this campaign cycle. Democrats let their fears run on wild tangents in their minds, and impute it to Trump. They constantly one-upped each other in the Trump paranoia, and called each other nasty names if they weren't paranoid enough. And somehow in there, they completely lost touch with reality. They convinced themselves that Jan 6 struck terror into the heart of the average American, that they cared more about third-trimester elective abortions or deportations than having to worry about making the next rent payment. In short, their heads were up each others' asses the entire time.
Trump is still a bombastic asshole. If Dems had run a Bill Clinton, Third Way New Democrat type, he'd have won 40 states, probably including Texas and Florida, everything except parts of the Deep South and Mountain West. Even a non-demented Joe Biden, who didn't treat the white working class as subhuman, with his record as an albatross around his neck, could have won.
However, since Obama, their leadership's response to any loss has been to go left-er and left-er (with the exception of brazen careerist Hillary Clinton who had no principles beyond personal advancement). Now they're playing the race and gender cards like they're pocket rockets. Remains to be seen if they'll learn their lesson, but...

@drew - I'm center-right and agree with you substantially across the board. I was hoping for someone further left like @wld4tatas to add his two cents. I don't know why people need more time to digest this...the facts are out there, people were writing "pre-mortems" in case either candidate won. But i want to emphasize one of your points...politics has become religion for the left. One of their prophecies just miserably failed, so they can't process what happened and need time to come up with a justification that doesn't change their worldview TOO much, lol.

^ Really, that's what I'm seeing from both the mainstream media and the rags on the left. We didn't deserve her. This nation is irredeemable.
Leftists just love being told how morally superior they are to everyone else, and use that as a license to treat everyone else as subhuman.

LOL. Why would they do that? I'm sure there are plenty better, and better expressed, liberal Democratic women than her.
Though people I know with SCOTUS connections say Elena Kagan is actually pretty smart and capable. I heard good things about her, Roberts, Gorsuch...bad things about Sotomayor and Alito.

"Inflation was mainly driven by factors related to the pandemic, other than government spending."
Other than that Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play? The spending and failure to resolve the supply chain crisis (Buttigieg was too busy talking about racist highways and taking 2 months off to adopt a kid) was Biden's doing, too. With most of the spending being green nonsense. Dems would give $5 trillion to Hamas, no questions asked, if they said they were using it to fight climate change.

"Trump may or may not be able to get it lower, but most of the work bringing it down has already happened under Biden."
In other words, Biden put out "most of" the fire he created. Rather, the fed did by jacking up rates, putting companies out of business and making loans unaffordable.
House is still ashes, though.

@wld4tatas
"Nobody cares about the 2020 riots."
People care about law and order, of which that was one manifestation. Trump was favored on this issue. It's also tangentially related to the Democrats' constant playing of the race and gender card.
"Whereas democracy (of which January 6 and Trump's attempted coup were relevant factors) was in the top 3 issues."
...but democracy means different things to either side.
For Democrats, it meant preventing Trump from becoming an autocrat, Jan 6, his potential mass firing of government employees and replacing them with loyalists.
To Republicans, it meant preserving the filibuster, preventing packing of the court, and stopping the blatant lawfare campaign against Trump. So both can say it's a priority but it not be a clear winning issue for either side.
At very least, one can point to Harris' late pivot to Trump fear and slipping even further behind in the polls.

^ Except the Summer 2020 riots over a career criminal overdosing.
No one cares about Jan 6. I don't know why the fuck Harris made that a central point of her messaging. Jan 6 doesn't put food on anyone's table.

I live in a condo. No yard. I never saw the point of having an unproductive, high-maintenance patch of land that's a time and money sink. I pay a condo fee but I have time to pursue other interests.

I also think that law and order beats inflation as a concern.
Law and order are like air, you take it for granted, but if you are deprived of it, you'll do anything to get it.

@drew - a guest worker program would mitigate this, but inflation accompanied by wage growth doesn't burden the worker.

"Just use common sense, how do we become richer as a country by importing the world's poverty, wholesale?"
@Muddy - Well said, on that and importing a different culture. They have Islamists pushing for sharia law, and European progressives, who are more interested in showing how enlightened and worldly and free of religious backwardness they are, either don't understand the threat or actively seek their own destruction. It's the lighter version of Queers for Palestine.
It seems like in small numbers, Muslims are great citizens. In America most stay Muslim but acculturate and understand you have to leave the old country behind. But in Europe or places where they don't demand assimilation, they want to impose the reactionary values of the place they left on everyone else. God bless America!

@drew -#2 is. #1 is to be accomplished through other means. Rounding up and deporting every illegal would take every law enforcement officer in America to drop everything else to do this. Taking away their reason to stay or come illegally rather than through legal channels? Cake.
