Closed for renovationsWelp, not sure if it's official, but now if you Google the club, it says "Permanently closed." The bartender who told me they'd open back up in September said they'd find out officially in October, but it definitely feels like it's going the same route as Follies: it was also down for unknown reasons for several months before it came up as permanently closed online.

Closed for renovations😲. Damn. It was no Follies but imo, it was the next best thing. I guess Vivide is the go-to spot now?

Closed for renovationsHowdy, gents. Just heard a few minutes ago from one of the bartenders there that they are expected to open back up in September!

Closed for renovationsDamn, wish I'd seen this before taking cash out and going today. They still had everything marked off and people outside screaming at us, "WE CLOSED!" Could have used a few nice lap dances to take my mind off work. Hope it really is just renovations and not more permanent. Several people mentioned their license expired, so I hope Follies 2.0 does not actually become...Follies 2.0!

VIP room/sI wish I had checked this discussion before I went back a second time last night. I tried it briefly for about an hour last week and liked the layout and thought the girls were decent. Spending more time yesterday, I realized the VIP really wasn't what I expected. Also, many of the girls tried cheating me out of money by claiming songs lasted longer than they did, and when I got "$100" back in 1s, I counted and it was actually just $90 🙄. Think 2 visits will be the max for me here.

Not a fan!@Papi_Chulo: thanks for rec! I just made a note of it.
@Bootayking & @Garfield84: thanks for the background info (and a second rec of Pin Ups).
@Profess2021: I honestly didn't even realize how little $ I spent until I got home, lol.
@desertscrub: Well, it looks like you cared enough to read the entire thing and then comment, huh?

Black Beauties galoreWent for the first (and last time) yesterday. Had planned to go to Club Platinum but I guess they were closed because of a water leak?
Anyway, I loved the layout of the place, but I have to say: these were the most "meh"-looking dancers I've seen at any club so far. Usually, I have to talk myself out of doing VIP. This time, it was really easy.
Most of the dances were crap. The lady behind the bar was rude and complained constantly, and when she made the drinks, I noticed she got a lot of the alcohol on her hands.
I was only there for about an hour, and even then, I felt like I stayed too long :(

First time ever visiting (2-26-21). And. . .might be the last for a while.@RockAllNight @Electronman:
Thanks! I try to follow the guidelines. Since I'm sort of still in the tryout mode with a lot of new clubs, I do see the real advantage of having a lot of detail. If some of these other places had a lot of info to go by, I would have saved myself the trip. I've been going to clubs for only about 3 years now, but fairly regularly (once a month or every other month) and this is only the second time someone stole from me. I took some time to think about it and honestly, yes, if it was closer, I might give them another shot. I still might anyway.
@Papi_Chulo:
Good points, and really good advice. I probably will give it another shot sometime soon and will keep these tips in mind. I 100% agree about the pool tables, particularly on the top floor. It felt like more room could have been devoted to something else. And you hit on the same thing I was mentioning in the review: it may have two levels, but they both felt kind of small.
@silverskeeter:
Good point. Of all the clubs I've been too so far, I think V-Live had the best VIP section (very spacious and lots of privacy). My issue with that one was they made it very dark (I like being able to see who I'm looking at).

My first time visiting today: A Review (1-28-21)@goldmongerATL @WavvyCain:
Not really. She spent most of the time dancing/grinding. She said a few times she could get REALLY crazy if I paid a little more, which I didn't. Her original asking price was $350, so I guess she watered down her performance.
Not sure how the rest of you do it but unless I have a pretty good feeling that it will be worth it, I don't go over $250 in total for VIP ($200 for the girl; $50 for security).

Strokers?Welp: finally tried Strokers out and the first time will probably be the last time for me. Liked I didn't have a parking or entry fee, and dances were only $5 a song, but every single stripper I got tried to say they danced 2 more songs longer than they did. Also didn't recognize anyone from Follies. Interesting to see two dancers fight on stage, though. Kind of made up for the tame/lame lap dances.

Permanent Closure?Did anybody here go to the Diamond Club "Follies reunion" a few weeks ago?
I showed up at 2pm and it was WAY more guys there than girls (everyone was just sitting around). I heard it picked up later on but I had bounced by then.

Strokers?@Papi_Chulo: yeah, I've thought that, too. A VERY small number I've seen at Platinum, but that's partly why I proposed the question because I wonder if it's worth it to see if some have gone there.
I've mostly heard negative things about the club but think I may try it once just to see if I notice anyone. If I do and it's as bad as it sounds, might try to swap numbers so I don't have to bother coming back.

Permanent Closure?@Alert94: I hope so, even though it really worked out for me: great club and only 5min from my house.
But Chamblee had been hostile to them from the very beginning, so hopefully they do open up somewhere else. Apparently Onyx may be getting its second life soon. . .

Permanent Closure?I follow a few former dancers and a hostess on IG. They posted on their IG pages that they got the official word either today or last night that it's closed for good.
Checked on Twitter, too, and saw the same thing.
The person posting on here that it was closed in August did it prematurely, but wasn't too far off.
It's still hard to find any long articles or detailed documents, but this is the only time I've seen multiple people who work(worked) there say the same thing at the same time.
Damn, it was my favorite spot :(
I know Platinum keeps coming up as a possible secondary choice for a lot of people, but I've been there a few times, and even though I see some of the same girls there, it ain't the same.

Still ClosedHi, all.
I just went today and wanted to share my experience for those who haven't been and are tempted (or even those who have gone recently and wanted to compare notes):
I went today, Monday, at around 2:30pm. Lot was pretty much full. To answer a question I had posed to the group earlier: they ask you wear a mask AND my temp was taken, which offered a little bit of relief.
I went to the bar to get a drink to loosen up (which took about 15min, by the way, even though it was only three of us there. Not sure if it was just the wrong lady tending the bar this day but she was rude and took forever).
While I was waiting for my drink (a simple damn beer!), I kind of surveyed the place and ended up chatting with the guy next to me for a little bit, and we both summed up Platinum vs. Follies this way: it's like going to Applebee's when Chili's is closed. It's half the size, you basically get the same stuff you would at the other place but it's not as good, and yet...even an imitation of the real thing is better than nothing.
I'm glad I went because it filled the stripper-less void I'd had since January, lol. It's definitely sporting a lot of familiar Follies faces (ran into someone I knew really well as I was leaving, actually). I did check a few comments under the Platinum section on this site and would say that I agree about the songs (it feels like the DJ cuts them off earlier than he should, so you're not REALLY getting your full dance time).
I didn't risk parking on the street, so I did the $10 valet. If you're partial to a particular race, I will tell you that I was there for about 3 hours and the VAST majority of the dancers were Hispanic (even the light-skinned girls I assumed were white were actually Latinas). There were a few black girls but they mostly hung out with the guys playing pool or just talked to each other in a corner. Very little interaction with people coming in, at least from my experience today. I'm black myself and tend to gravitate towards that group, but I'm open to anyone who's willing to sit in my lap and pretend like I'm a hot Santa for $10 or $20, lol.
Oh and FYI: I talked to both someone there and someone online today and each of them said Follies is NOT closed for good (as Jay104 mentioned, they have an agreement with Chamblee that is good until 2022). Both said they will be opening "soon," though no date was given.

Still ClosedApologies if this has been covered elsewhere (don't have VIP access, so can't read full reviews) but I'm seriously thinking about trying it out today and just wanted to confirm two things:
1. Outside of wearing a mask, are there any other precautions in place (temp check) before you enter?
2. Price-wise, how does it compare to Follies (i.e. cost per dance)? I know that VIP security is the same and valet is $20.
Thanks in advance.

Still Closed@goldmongerATL: Damn, no!!!
Chamblee has wanted Follies closed down for a long time and I figured they would use the current pandemic to finally get their wish. Most state and federal businesses are actually open, though. They're probably saying they're "closed" to stall the club into closure.
I hate this. I had a little hope a few days ago but the longer they're out of commission, the longer it will take to get back to normal.

Still Closed@Jay104: sounds like I will be getting over my fear quickly then, LOL.
Many thanks for the report. Both your info and what I've heard from a few others now really make it sound like Follies: Version 2.
