Since the pandemic came and ravaged Follies, the best club in Atlanta, for my money, I've been looking to find the next best thing. Club Platinum would probably be it right now, but once I saw on both their Instagram and Twitter pages that Follies' dayshift had been resurrected here, I just had to check it out.

I came a little after 4:30pm on a Thursday. Parking was spacious and free (MAJOR high points!). When I walked into the actual club, there was a pat down but no one took my temperature, despite all the COVID concerns going around (MAJOR low points!). The lady charged me the $10 entry fee and gave me the OK when I showed my license. She suggested that tips were appreciated. I put the extra $5 I had in the tip jar and she seemed happy. She asked if it was my first time there and I said yes, so she gave me a mini-tour (basically, showed me they had an upstairs and downstairs).

I have to say: I really liked the look of the place. The upstairs, even though it was empty, did look nice, and the fact the club had different levels to it added to the comfort factor. Even though I was the only person there who bothered to wear a mask, you could easily social distance. One thing I will say I don't really like about Platinum is you feel really crammed in there. I don't care if people are smoking entire truck loads of weed (it is an adult club, after all), but when the people to your left and your right are both lighting up and you're THAT close, it can be annoying. V Live looked a LOT cleaner, by comparison, and, as one dancer there mentioned, it might be more accommodating for business types than a few other clubs. I think that's a pretty accurate statement.
