Heaving.... You are not getting it.... in my example is a loss of about $180,000 per store. So if this goes for the whole country.....krogers would lose $180,000 on over 1000 stores. That is a loss of 180,000,000. Just on wages....that isn't including insurance costs like I mentioned....or cost of things they outsource going up. Any company losing that money per year will go bankrupt. Here is another little tid bit....let's say in my previous example of the profit they lost was 500,000.....maybe that will keep them for m opening another store in some other location. Then factor in what twenty-five is saying. But let's circle back to the 180,000,000 loss like I mentioned....what will that do to the price of goods in the stores???

I also forgot to mention.... think of the stores like Krogers that outsource work....ie: maintance of parking lots, grass/landscaping, etc. All of those businesses increased wages by $5 too... so more added cost to Krogers in Long Beach... less of a profit margin.

twentyfive... exactly... and then the feds will say we need to raise the min wage to $25 a hour... and the cycle repeats itself.

heaving.... Here is the deal... lets just use those 4 stores in Long Beach that closed. Krogers sets what they want to make profit on each store.... lets say that is $250,000 per each store for the year is target... so $1,000,000 per all of Long Beach is the goal (per the 4 stores). Now if each store employ's 25 people at each store that they have to make the pay increase of $5 an hour, 30 hours a week, 50 weeks a year.... That is an increase in cost of $187,500 PER STORE..... So if each one of the stores in Long Beach before the wage hike were clearing $300,000 profit for Krogers Corporate... now they would only be clearing $112,500 for the year... NOT $300,000. So instead of clearing the $1.2 Million... they are now only getting $450,000. Kind of a big hit.... even if they were only making the $1,000,000 off of those 4 stores... and now making $450,000. Would you want to take a 50% or more hit to your pocket??? I wont even get into the other factors like... COST OF UNEMPLOYMENT/Work Comp INSURANCE... yeah that is based on wages a company pays.... Hell i will do a quick hit on that... Lets say that the factor the insurance company uses for unemployment/work comp is .05 for every $1000 in wages. So if they pay $1000 in wage they pay $50 in unemployment/work comp insurance. Now if wages increase by $187,500 (like stated above) that is an extra of $9375 they have to pay into an insurance company!!! Just because of a wage increase mandated by the city. AT EACH STORE!!! That is an almost $10,000 hit along with the cost of increases in wages. Also my numbers for the work comp rate might be off...It could be much worse. And if you think my numbers are wrong.... I am sure Krogers has more that 25 people per store making minimum wage. Also think I am using 30 hours a week.... not 40...and not even thinking any over time... remember that is time and a half!!

It really isn't Corporate fear mongering. It is the corporate profit structure of that said company. It is why they shut down stores or sell stores in other locations. If Store A in an area can't produce a bottom line of X for profit... they close it down or sell it. So with the wage "hike"... it pushed those stores below the profit bottom line that the said company wants. Also you have to look at it like this... the corporate or company wants to keep prices at a certain level... if they can't keep those prices low and still reach that bottom line profit margin.... they change the products they sell. Why do you think in grocery stores you see different "value" type products....ie: lower end soup cans, chips, cereals, milks, etc. Those change "brand" all the time. So now it said stores cant reach the bottom line profits and can't keep prices down to what the "corporate" wants....they close down the Stores or sell them off. This will happen across the board with more people pushing for a "wage" hike. Because they can't just keep raising the price of products. BTW... you know who is pushing for the raise hikes.... BIG CORPORATIONS.... the reasoning... they can push out the local mom and pop stores and then have people drive to the "super stores" that are over an hour away.

The problem with people leaving CA is that they will VOTE THE SAME... in the new states they move too. They need to clear their mind of that way of thinking. Also on the whole "wage hike"... wait to you see what the prices do in other stores.... they wont go down. CA is a beautiful state.... not everyone thinks beaches are the only thing beautiful... state parks, forest lands, even sandy deserts are beautiful to some.

Las Vegas....
That is exactly the reason why I was looking.... I saw a flight and hotel stay for $105+tax for a hotel on the Strip.... That is insane!!!! Last time I was there it was $450 for that type of deal and same hotel. Thanks for the heads up... i will have to do some thinking... because I can't just gamble the whole time.

Bdirect.... was there no contact or "distance" rules in place for the clubs? Masks on at all times? How is other stuff... ie: Golf, gun ranges, shows, etc. Basically wondering if other stuff is open to enjoy other than just gambling. Since this was a strip club forum... of course I had to ask about them.

OT: Nearly Half Of Texas’ Wind Turbines Frozen In Winter Storm, Limiting State’s
It is correct that the whole energy sector is to blame for TX.... 1. Solar/wind batteries not holding charges because of cold 2. Turbines frozen 3. Nuke plant sensor shutdown because of cold so the plant had to shut down because of safety issues 4. Nat. Gas lines freezing... etc. But people screaming GREEN IS THE WAY TO GO... right here shows you about the batteries that is the issue. Especially when people start to use more and more power. This is a once in a generation type freeze. Now to the people comparing it to CA.... CA every year has rolling black outs... all because of the HEAT. Every year they know it is going to be hot and people will use AC. This storm took TX and others by surprize. IT is really no comparison to CA.

Bidens gun laws
To the people saying BIDEN hasn't said anything about guns.... correct. But Shelia Jackson has purposed a bill to be in committee about gun laws. Look it up... it is nutty. "I really hope Biden can pass the background check laws the majority of Americans want including most cops." You already have to pass a background check to obtain a gun from an FFL or store. It is the purchasing between private parties that doesn't have to pass a check. Now with that issue... it could lead to you need to pass a background check when you give a gun to a child, relative, etc. Think "hand me down". You would need to pass a back ground check if you possibly lend a gun to a person for the day, weekend, etc. If you are on a trip and someones gun breaks or gets stolen... and you have a spare with you... that person would need to pass a background check to use that gun. Also I dont want anyone to say "the gun show loop hole".... any gun that is sold by any dealer or person with a booth at a gun show needs to pass thru a background check. The ones that dont are the sale of a gun from a private party to a private party. IE: IF i were to go to a gun show and wanted to sell a gun to a dealer. They offer me $600. Then at another booth I hear someone ask about the same gun and that dealer says it will cost $1000.... I tell the guy I have an extra one that I was trying to sell and was only offered $600. I would be willing to sell you for $800. That deal doesn't have to go thru a background because it is private citizen to private citizen. It isn't a "gun show loop hole".... we just met at a gun show.

They never tell you what you need to know.
All the businesses affected by COVID.
Think about non profit organizations that get funding by holding events. These are anything from conservation things, booster clubs, social/fraternal clubs (Elks, Knights of Columbus, etc). Any thing that gets its money from charitable gambling...ie: Pull Tabs. Since bars are not open.

Now there is video out where you can see the cops trying to put him to the ground and he escapes then goes to his drivers side door. @25 talks about protocol.... we dont know what he reached for... but if it was a weapon the cops shot him because he REACHED FOR IT. Only time will tell what really happened. Also if you want to talk "protocol" and what not... The system for hiring people and for police has been going down hill. They dont hire the best anymore because of "hiring" practices. I will make it simple... W=White M=Male F=Female C=person of color. So the top 10 canidates for 3 police openings are this (in order from highest score possible) 1. WM 2.WM 3.CM 4. WF 5. WM 6. CF 7. WM 8. CM 9.CF 10. CM You know who gets hired or asked first about the jobs... Not the top two canidates!!.. It would be 3,4,6... and even the WF might get skipped. All to meet "quota's" or "ratios". Not saying that those people cant do the job but just saying they are not your TOP recuits. THAT IS THE ISSUE. Plus look how the attitude towards police has changed. It used to be a "respected" profession. Now would you want to be an officer???

@ papi...100% correct again... @demsrule.... You are correct that the evidence is damning on the guy not listening. His shirt was getting pulled to stop him from going into the car.. Btw...his history does matter because he did have a warrant for his arrest and his history is he puts up a fight with police. So those cops gave him more chances than many if you ask me. He could have been shot before he even was in the car. Again his actions are what caused this shooting. His and his alone.

Papi... correct about the physically restraining... But if you watch the vid... they were holding on to his shirt.. .pulling on it. They were trying as much as they could other than tackling him to the ground. I know some will say "tazer".... but look what happened in the Wendy's parking lot down in Georgia (I think) and the guy took the tazer and pointed it at the cops and tried to fire it. ALL OF THE WHAT "IFS" has played out before and the police have been crucified no matter what they do. But not once has the person or victim been crucified for NOT FOLLOWING DIRECTIONS. This is what is sad is people dont take responsibility for actions. I drop $500 in a strip club in 30 mins and I dont go and blame the Strippers and ask for "refunds" or go to the bank and say... I can't pay my bills because of those damn strippers shaking their ass at me. It is the strippers fault not mine.... I live with my decisions that I make.

Now... one thing that isn't getting the media attention... THIS GUY HAD A WARRANT FOR HIS ARREST. So he was a wanted criminal not a choir boy. Also in the video you can see the cops have ahold of his shirt the whole time trying to stop him.... Again.. nobody should lose their lives and it is sad that kids were present. But people have to realize that his decision not to do what the police asked him to do resulted in him getting shot. ACTIONS HAVE CONSEQUENSES. This wasn't a "race" thing. This was a guy not obeying orders, resisting the police (they were grabbing his shirt to try and stop him), etc. It is sad that it happened when it could have been avoided really easily. But I will wait to see exactly what the investigation finds out for sure. We dont know if a gun was in the car, knife, etc. Hopefully there is body cam footage so we can hear the orders given or not given...etc.

Please make your home club in MN... would be closer so I can visit u. ;) I never knew downtown MSP was a "brothel" everytime I was there no extras at all. The club you mentioned does have a "home" vibe even for the client/customer. Laid back attitudes and always friendly.
