Have you ever tried to stick a silver dollar into a stripper's G-string?
2024 concludes the third largest federal budget deficit
^^ Still true today. Trump’s Corporate Tax Cut Is Not Trickling Down https://www.americanprogress.org/article/trumps-corporate-tax-cut-not-trickling/ Just pull up the economic charts, the tax cuts to the wealthy and large corporations exploded the debt but did not produce an inflection in economic benefits distinguishable from the trends Trump inherited from Obama. In some cases the metrics were even worse: Obama averaged 215,000 jobs per month in his second term Trump averaged 182,000 jobs per month through 2019

>and entrepreneurs re-invest that money into their business and the economy. Trickle down economics... largely discredited as failing to live up to it's promise, and instead mainly just helping the rich get richer.

Trump inherited a strong economy from Obama and rode his coattails; his tax cuts gave a marginal boost to the middle class and an unnecessary whopping boost to the rich, all while exploding the debt. Stay tuned for more of the same. Trump tells wealthy donors he wants to extend his 2017 tax cuts. Here’s why they’d benefit the most https://www.cnn.com/2024/04/10/politics/trump-2017-tax-cuts-rich/index.html

Trump had plenty of mega-wealthy supporters who are no doubt looking out for themselves, while the wealthy supporting Harris clearly had other values determining their vote. I'm all for balancing the budget as long as the wealthy take most of the hit. That's unlikely to be the case though, under the swamp of right wing millionaires and billionaires about to take over the federal government.

Trumpers, how patient are you?
^ I think you have the answer to your original question "how patient are you". Trumpers here largely avoided the question, deflected, and defended or ignored Trump's messaging this week that he likely won't deliver on his repeated campaign promise to reduce inflation. So the answer is there is no limit to their patience, at least for now in the honeymoon phase of his second term. The former "I don't like him but I'll vote for him" have now become his cheerleaders and fanboys. The real test would be if Trump went and stood in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shot somebody, and see if his voters still support him, like Trump has predicted they would. No doubt many would.

^ Nice article @ilbbaicnl August 2024: "Prices will come down,” Trump also told rallygoers during a speech in August. “You just watch. They’ll come down, and they’ll come down fast, not only with insurance, with everything.” December 2024: "I don't think so. Look, they got them up, I'd like to bring them down. It's hard to bring things down once they're up," he said. "You know, it's very hard."

Good610 has it exactly right. Bidenomics largely worked, and Trump will inherit a fairly strong economy. Trump will have to do more than ride his predecessor's coattails, like he did last time, to be credited with having any real impact. For example, if unemployment goes below Biden's 50 year low of 3.4%, that would be to Trump's credit.

@mogul I provided the NYT article which has all the background on how John Kelly came to his opinion that Trump met the definition of a fascist. Go ahead and bury your head in the sand, but Kelly was Trump's longest-serving chief of staff and had far more exposure to Trump's thinking than most people. The central and recurring theme in his interactions was that Trump placed loyalty to himself above loyalty to the Constitution. There's plenty of examples in the article. Now one might say well this is all just theoretical, speculation, that Trump never ACTED like a fascist. Except, there's that pesky fact that Trump and his loyalists plotted to bypass the Constitution and overturn the 2020 election. If not for Mike Pence, things might have turned out very differently. So there you have it..... a very legitimate argument why Trump meets the definition of a fascist. I personally would say Trump is part-fascist.

Betrayal already!
MAGA world is going after Republican Joni Ernst with a vengeance, for not yet supporting Fox News personality Pete Hegseth to lead the Department of Defense. Threatening to end her career if she doesn't support Trump's pick.

Rubio is a decent pick for Secretary of State. But it's amazing how many of Trump's nominees have had allegations of sexual misconduct.

Here's an analogy to help PT. Say some guy thinks 400 is expensive for OTC, and you call it a lie. I can say it's an opinion based on his experience, and not a lie. But that doesn't mean I think 400 is expensive. Get it? Read it a few times if you're having trouble. To understand what voters want, we have to look at the polls. People voted for lower food prices, among many other things. Since only a small fraction of the country even has a favorable view of MAGA (~ 24%), it's laughable bs to say America wants MAGA.

Whenever PT falls back on his "sugar tits" line, you know he's lost patience at continually having his weak arguments shot down. Trump's lies are innocuous things like eating cats --> false Calling Trump a fascist is a lie --> false Implying I think Trump is a fascist --> false (never said that, though he has well-documented fascist tendencies) America wants MAGA --> LOL false Just a slippery snake who keeps meandering with his endless spin and weak arguments. No sour grapes here, just a much-needed reality check on the MAGA cheerleaders. Expect it to continue for the next 4 years !

> "Trump is a fascist." Given this originated from two former senior advisors to Trump during his presidency, Mark Milley and John Kelly (both highly ranked and decorated retired generals), it is difficult to call this a lie. You're not doing too well on this. Trump's lies about the 2020 election are on an entirely different level, and a key reason why so many in his party said he was unfit to serve again.

Chief I agree with your point #1. Prior to the pardon, Biden should have just said "I haven't made any decision on that yet" and left it at that. Easy peasy. He didn't and now it's a bad look. Calling KJP a liar on this is misguided. She's just a mouthpiece for the White House, she wasn't able to say anything different than what Biden said himself. As for lies..... there is only one undisputed King of Lies, and that is Donald Trump himself. Aided and abetted by the corrupt right wing media. The Washington Post did a tally of Trump's lies over his first term and the grand total was 30,573 false or misleading claims over four years. Unreal.

>Then we get Biden the thug who did something with Ukraine and his nitwit inbred son Hunter that forced Biden to side with Ukraine when Russia attacked them, due to risk of exposure of his crimes. Seriously dude, can you provide even ONE credible link supporting this wildass theory that Zelensky was going to somehow "expose" Biden if the US didn't help Ukraine after Russia invaded?

Senile old man misses the point again - there is scant evidence that the world is "showing more willingness to play ball now" with Trump as president-elect.... a truly laughable statement from PT.
