The right wingers here sure spend a ton of time and effort trying to counter posts they deem as non-substantive coping and whining.

To the thread topic: I hope America is successful.
I think that's what 25 means. But hoping for Trump to be successful is not how I would word it. Trump has policy, style and character issues that have and can again work against America being successful. There's an important distinction.
We will all have different criteria for success. A few of mine would be:
1. We demonstrate strength, leadership, and support for democracy and our allies by contributing to a surge in NATO support for Ukraine to defeat Russia.
2. We sustain and improve on the economic recovery under Biden. We do this in a way that benefits mostly the middle class, not the wealthy.
3. We get the border more in control.
4. The Democrat party moves more to the middle, marginalizing the gender activists, with new strong leadership.
5. The Republican party moves more to the middle, marginalizing MAGA, and further exposing Trump as a con artist looking to enrich his family and friends with his bitcoin agenda.

Inflation was mostly driven by supply vs. demand imbalances and supply chain issues stemming from Covid. Stimulus spending was a minor factor, a study by the St. Louis Fed estimated it contributed 2.6% to overall inflation.
Only a low information voter would think it was 100% because of Dems.

Being a low information voter, skibum probably doesn't realize that inflation is already below 3% since July, under Biden.

not the real drew carey, but I play him at strip clubs...
The topic here is deportations, and I posted on what Trump has to beat to even have a semblance of meeting his campaign promise. The number to beat appears to be about 400K / year.
We know Trump has massively overhyped and simplified the immigration issue (except for perhaps the kool-aid drinking MAGA supporters who believe everything Trump says). We also know Trump had Republicans block funding for the border last year so he could campaign on this issue. As things move forward we should be better able to discern the truth from the bullshit.

Biden carried out the highest level of deportations since 2014. Trump will have to beat the numbers of the last two Democrat administrations at a minimum, or else be proven a liar once again.
------------------------------------
For 2024: ICE’s latest report reveals that of the 271,484 removals carried out last fiscal year, around 32% of those were people with criminal histories. ICE’s enforcement and removal branch also arrested 113,431 immigrants, down from the previous year. Of those, 81,312 were convicted criminals or had pending criminal charges at the time of arrest.

Muddy how on earth do you manage to review 330 unique clubs in 12 months? You must be retired and rich and travel to a new place every day.
I'm still having fun and visiting new places, just finished my annual holiday run with a list of about 15 clubs, spas and indies. But in general I am definitely shifting a bit more to quality over quantity, and putting more emphasis on having solid regulars who check my boxes. Have a few in advanced stage and a few in development.

BTW in his testimony Hegseth lied about there being quotas for women, just like gammanu is suggesting. This alone should disqualify Hegseth.

Military recruiting.... From what I can tell, aside from expected reasons like the possibility of physical injury/death/PTSD and leaving family and friends, another top reason has been the strong economy and more options for young people. This makes sense with an average starting salary of just 43K. Haven't seen any evidence that the military becoming "woke" was a reason.
Military recruitment is down. Why don’t young Americans want to join?

And there will still be 61 hostages remaining after this deal. Trump will unleash hell if they aren't released soon, we would expect.

One guy from Trump's team, working with the rest of Biden's team. There were hostage release deals in the past without any help from Trump, so hard to make the case that Biden needed any help from Trump now. The suggestion from the reporter was completely laughable. It probably seemed a normal question to her though, working at Fox News.

That Fox News reporter didn't just ask if Trump helped in the Hamas deal, she worded it as : "Who in the history books gets credit for this, Mr. President, you or Trump?"
Biden had the perfect response "Is that a joke?". Love it. What a clown question.

Not a shred of evidence, nothing? Wow what a pathetic bunch of kool-aid quaffers. This tells me this particular right wing lie is especially empty.

Still waiting to see the evidence of DEI as anything more than a blip on the strength of our military.
Without evidence, it looks like a gimmick to stoke MAGA rage and sell books.

One of his main claims seems to be the US military has been weakened by so-called "woke" policies. Where's the evidence of that?

A lot of the pro-Trump ads and messaging were misleading. By PT's logic, calling that out equates to showing contempt for voters... which basically means it would never be valid to call out something misleading. Of course, this notion is absurd.
Keep on spinning, we all see it. And we all know you care plenty, which is why you continue trying too hard.

The post-election assessments point to a number of factors that influenced swing state voters, but "being lied to" was not one of them. Just another example of PT pulling stuff out of his ass.
Aside from certain elements of MAGA for which I have contempt, and which you are trying to deflect from, can you provide an example of where I've shown contempt for the groups you listed?

^ You are incorrect. MAGA is a segment of the Republican party, not the entirety. A recent poll indicates 53% of Republicans identify as MAGA. That's about one quarter of the country. Trump won not because most Americans wanted MAGA, but because enough Americans believed they would have better economic prospects, and were misled that Dems prioritized gender issues over kitchen table issues (again, inadequate messaging by Dems). Calling out the contemptible elements of MAGA does not equate with having contempt for all Americans, despite your ridiculous attempts to spin it so.

@TheSingularity - well said
We can only hope that someday the Republican Party gets back to it's roots, taking conservative positions but with civility and respect, with intelligent and fact-based arguments rather than conspiracy theories, unlike the MAGA crowd who in many ways are the real RINOs.

I didn't have much interest in the hush money case or it's outcome, and said before I agree it was largely politically motivated -- not by Dems or Biden though -- but by the Manhattan DA. Any characterization of the charges as "manufactured" is bs. There was clear evidence of falsification of business records, with a clear link to election conspiracy, which supported the unanimous verdict of the 12 member jury.
The Jack Smith case was substantive and significant IMO, and it's a shame it will no longer be pursued (as I've also said before). I'm looking forward to reading about the final report.
