Dated a girl who was 6'3"..... I'm 6'2" and yeah, when she wore heels it was a bit uncomfortable.
Otherwise, my ideal was / is 5'7" to 5'9".

I like having cultural things like museums, concert venues and historical locations; The D is great for that. I mainly base my preference on the Three "G's".. Golf, Girls and Gambling. Not many places you can have a variety of all three in decent proximity at a reasonable cost. I may be geographically biased but, my #1 is Detroit and if I can include Canada the GTA is pretty damn good too.

Warrior's got it right; Scarlett's (no alcohol) is your best bet nearby for a Detroit like experience.
Long haul to Pasco for full nude w/ alcohol; Bare Assets is my favorite. I believe Doc Evil? did an excellent set of reviews on Pasco not too long ago.
