Belated December Review

I feel a bit bad about waiting so long to post this, but I found out that when the website went live again I wasn't able to reset my account. In any case, I tried today and it worked. This review covers what I came across at CC in mid-December, covering thu/fri/sat.

For those that often fly in to TIJ, they have done away with the old taxi stand and now have taxi starters. It's now a total ripoff and they want 450 pesos to go to HK. I was in the long line and stupidly agreed to get on a ride share bus to save time. It didn't result in a refund of some of my money and probably ended up taking as long as waiting in the line. Lesson learned.

This trip I noticed that they did some remodelling of the bar, mainly at the back. Sadly, they still haven't decided to bring back the VIP booths, which were a hell of a lot of fun with the right girl. I wonder if they're falling into the same trap that the bozos who ran Adelitas ran into, namely, sprucing up the bar without putting money into the hotel above it. When push comes to shove, that's what really separates HK from the other bars: they actually put some work into making Cascadas worth staying at. I'm hoping that the people who run CC someday buy Hotel Leyva next door and make it a real competition for monger dollars.
