Ukraine is sad but will have little impact on Americans. However, if it emboldens China to make a move on Taiwan, it will destroy our economy for a decade.

The latest fake news being spread by media is to blame inflation on the Ukraine invasion. You see, inflation has nothing to do Biden’s horrible policy decisions, like canceling oil pipelines. US inflation was caused by Putin. Biden is doing a great job ! Working nonstop for the American people. Incidentally, the reason Biden is late for so many events is they are waiting for his meds to kick in and make him ( sort of ) lucid.

There used to be a Britney at HL until CoVid. One of my all time favorites. From your description, this is someone different. I’m not going back to HL as long as they scan IDs. Did they scan yours ?

Tenant farmers and day laborers going all the way back to the 1500s in Europe. Came to America and, over a period of 100 years, worked their way up to being teachers, store owners, bankers, politicians, engineers, large farm owners. The American dream works.

Three thousand years ago, Africans/Egyptians enslaved most of the Jewish people. Do people of African heritage owe reparations to the Jewish people ?

    Definition of "wealthy"
The rule of thumb is that you can spend 4%-5% of your assets each year forever. Decide how much you need to live on each year and multiply by 20. That’s the Fuck You Money figure.

Someone in the trades today makes enough money to vacation in Hawaii, eat fresh food flown in from other countries, use their phone to contact anyone in the world, and drive a car that can go 80 miles an hour. The richest man in the world in the year 1900 could afford none of these things.

    Definition of "wealthy"
One definition of wealth is having more money than you’ll ever need. I’ve known lots of people who made $500,000 per year and struggled to get by. I’ve known lots of people who made $100,000 and lived very comfortably. The difference between them was mostly how much they felt the need to impress other people.

None of these woke marketing strategies occurred to VS until their revenue figures plunged. They were perfectly happy selling a sexual fantasy using ridiculously slender, tall models as the symbol of desire. They didn’t have a sudden case of conscience, they had a sudden fear of bankruptcy.

    Inflation Part 2
There have been lots of studies at what makes a happy person. Generally, these are people who make enough money to meet their families’ basic needs ( $70,000 per year tends to be enough in most locations ) and are content with their life. They never express a desire, as in “ If I only had X, I’d be happy “. But, money does play a role. If inflation prevents you from being able to provide for your family’s safety and security, it’s a big deal. This matches up with the Buddhist belief that all suffering comes from desire. Live in the moment. Don’t condition your happiness on an external event.

    Inflation Part 2
Very few wealthy people think they are wealthy. If they are worth $2Million, they’d say $5 Million is wealthy. If they have $5 Million, they’d say $10 Million. Etc. But, if you ask the proverbial man on the street, $2 Million would be a typical response.

Surveys have been done asking how people define wealthy. It’s usually around $2 Million in assets.

The coronation of King Charles III
Charles reportedly wants to scale back on the number of people considered part of the royal family. Not the worst idea. I ( almost literally ) ran into Prince Charles years ago. He was coming out of an office building as I was walking by. I was struck by how tiny he was.

Do you known where there are millions in interment camps right now ? The Uyghurs in China. Do you know what Joe Biden is doing to help them ? Nothing. Do you know who got rich by supporting the Chinese Communists ? Hunter Biden, who said that 10% of the money had to be shared with his Dad.

This is corporate virtue signaling. It’s a willingness to do whatever seems would improve the brand image, even at the risk of bringing harm to a vulnerable person. Buy our goods because we are more virtuous than our competition. If you don’t buy our underwear, you are a bad person.

    Inflation Part 2
The answer for everything is “ tax the rich”. Free college ? Tax the rich. Free healthcare ? Tax the rich. Universal Basic Income ? Tax the rich. However, a financial analysis at the most basic level shows that you couldn’t pay for any of these freebies even if you taxed every rich person at 100%. It’s wishful thinking that a handful of people could pay for everyone else’s life.

    Inflation Part 2
Democrats believe in Modern Monetary Theory: Modern Monetary Theory (MMT) is a heterodox macroeconomic framework that says monetarily sovereign countries like the U.S., U.K., Japan, and Canada, which spend, tax, and borrow in a fiat currency that they fully control, are not operationally constrained by revenues when it comes to federal government spending. Put simply, such governments do not rely on taxes or borrowing for spending since they can print as much as they need and are the monopoly issuers of the currency. Since their budgets aren’t like a regular household’s, their policies should not be shaped by fears of rising national debt. Democrats governing philosophy is a belief that government should spend as much money as possible using the printing press to pay for it. They believe this will generate prosperity and have no downside. If some of this money falls into their families pockets, so much the better.

    Inflation Part 2
For the last 140 years, the market has always bounced back. Sometimes, it takes months. Sometimes, it takes years. But, the best strategy has always been to keep your money in a diverse group of stocks and wait for the rebound. The closest this strategy came to failing was in the 1930s when the government refused to allow market forces to bring things back to balance. Instead, it tried to legislate, regulate, and spend our way back. It wasn’t until WWII that we pulled ourselves out of it. Maybe Biden will make the same mistake that FDR did. So far, he has. That means we’ve got 3 more years of this shit.

Mr. Mark, where is my fucking debatey-debates trophy?
In the “debate” you claim to have won, you presented a disjointed, illogical, almost comical argument. When I pointed out its flaws, you declared yourself the winner, without responding to my comments. Now, you repeatedly demand a trophy. Is this how you act in the real world ?

    Inflation Part 2
As Ronald Reagan said, government is not the solution, it’s the problem. Lock down society for 2 years. Spend trillions on stimulus. Ban drilling for oil. Kill pipelines. Fire millions for not accepting injections. Then, you are shocked when inflation kicks in. So, the solution is Build Back Better ( by spending trillions more ).
