Has anyone been to the clubs on Roosevelt ave like Romanticos, and Mamas? Seems to be the new Red Light District of NYC. There are working girls on the surrounding streets. I wanted to check them out but haven not yet because I am in my fifties now and I don't speak Spanish.
I forgot about them for a while but then I saw a Reddit post saying every venue on Roosevelt ave is filled to the brim until 4am. "Barely any standing room. The working girls in there tried to kiss me, lol.".
This reminded me of a club in the Dominican Republic I went to where for the first time in my life a bunch of hot girls were coming on to me. I was with my girlfriend at the time so I didn't speak to them. Found out later they were working girls.
Could these clubs on Roosevelt ave be similar to that? I did check out a couple of places last year but it was during the day and not much was going on.
Does anyone have the 411 on these places?

Curiosity got the better of me, so I wandered on to Rosy av last night (Wednesday around 10:20 p.m.). The original plan was Romanticos bar (instagram.com), but the parking demons had other ideas. After circling the block enough times to qualify for NASCAR, I ended up near Casanova (instagram.com) instead. As I walked by, a bouncer dramatically pulled back a velvet rope like I'd just won an award. I walked in.
The VIP treatment lasted approximately three seconds before the next bouncer gave me a quick pat-down. No cover charge, though.
The first room hits you with salsa music at a volume that gave me a flashback to the Concorde on take off. If you enjoy hearing your own thoughts, this is not the place. Neon lights everywhere gave the room the aesthetic of "Miami nightclub meets highlighter factory."
The vibe was very much like any nyc "club"—except nearly all of the women there were wearing matching powder-blue, skin-tight bodysuits. Different designs, same shade of blue.
There are tables in this room where you can sit with ladies if that's your thing, but I wandered into the next room, which is long and narrow with a bar stretching almost the entire length. The bathrooms are at the far end.
A club soda ran me about $5. From what I could tell, this is a "companion bar" where customers buy drinks for the women to spend time chatting with them. The bartender spoke English fluently, though I couldn't tell how common that was among all of the talent because I didn't stick around long enough to find out.
It was still pretty early—about 10:20 p.m.—and there were only four customers, so the place hadn't really hit its stride yet.
One unexpectedly entertaining detail: there was a small photo setup near the back where a photographer was taking promotional shots of the women in sexy poses, first individually and then as a group. It felt like I'd accidentally wandered into a behind-the-scenes fashion shoot.
I was hoping to see more of an independent working girl scene at the bar, but it may have just been too early. Overall, it's easy enough to check out even if you don't speak Spanish—the staff I interacted with all spoke fluent English so I never felt out of place. I feel more comfortable checking these places out now.
I should also mention that when I walked out of the club on the next block I saw a gorgeous Latina in her early 20s who looked straight in to my eyes and gave me a nod. She was a working girl. If she was at Casanova I would have jumped at the opportunity to buy her drinks, tip her and get her number for OTC. But picking of a working girl on the streets is not my thing. Also I assumed she only spoke Spanish. I kind of regret not saying hi to her though because she was so attractive I am still thinking about her the next day. She was an outlier. In my very limited experience most of the Latinas on Rosy av are BBWs with an exception here and there.
