Ethnic stereotypes and strippers

Do you find strippers, when it comes to their ethnic background, match common ethnic stereotypes? I find that is only true half the time. For example an Italian American regular hated Italian food but liked French food. Half of black strippers I have known fit the angry black woman stereotype but half are sweet tempered and kind. I had an Asian regular tell me one time customers ask if she is good at math. She laughed and said she actually is good at math and fits the stereotype.

Only because of confirmation bias.

Young, spinner, naked. Beyond that I see, hear and know nothing.

When it comes to the clubs it is about perception and cultural ideas. Many people are attracted to what is like them; others attracted to what is exotic and different. Sit in the back of a club and people watch. One can work on their MA in Sociology. Mother nature puts a lot in the genes to keep different ethnicities going. I am of central and western European descent. I am most attracted to similar women-mostly with blonde or red hair; German, Polish, Czech, Hungarian descent are my favorite. The biggest thing in a club is not being a jerk. In the USA it is more aligned with skin color. I do find east Asian men (China, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan) do not find black and Afro-Caribbean women appealing. South Asian men (India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) are very intrigued by blonde- and red-haired women-for them that is exotic. Scandinavian men find black women exotic and appealing. Those types of people they just see on TV shows. The world is much smaller than it as 30 years ago.

I think they match cultural stereotypes heavily, and to an extent, even racial stereotypes. Black dancers are probably the most likely to rob/drug/scam you.
But its more common for an american raised sex worker to scam/rob you also- especially if shes dating black dudes, followed by if shes dating latin dudes. It has to do with culture, the media theyre exposed to, what theyre taught about relationships growing up etc

One size never fits all. The one thing I do see is most mature dancers (25 - 35) tend to have more polished conversation skills than the younger ones (18 -23). Of course, as with any thing, there are exception.

I have always found the Russian women who dance to be cold and calculating. But I don't think that is due to their race. I think it is due to the harsh conditions they were brought up in.

They seem like people who have been betrayed by their friends when they were young. They develop a self preservation instinct.

Many dancers I know are white trash, and boy do they fit the stereotype.

Some dancers play it up for the fetish aspect. Most dancers act just like any other dancers. Whatever makes them the money.

Strippers told me the customers in the club generally match their ethnic / cultural stereotypes. That's why they avoid certain customers or are attracted to certain customers, e.g., I won't go to Indian / Pakistani / Asian customers because they are cheap or Italian customers are all talk or Irish customers are great because I can always get a drink.

My basic answer is I'm not interested in strippers for their stereotypes, other than I suppose stereotypes related to them being strippers. ITC I don't care about their individual social background. OTC it can matter but usually doesn't.

Social class has more to do with perceptions and behaviors than race inside a country. It takes more time than I have right now to filter through the published research about it, because most of the easy to find work is public health related and the OP is talking about attitudes and how people of a certain group are perceived by others. Because the op posted something thoughtful on the topic, I tried to respond in kind but it's better to bring something independently verifiable to a TUSCL conversation on race and ethnicity (because the likelihood it's going sideways is about 100% lol).

All of that is to say here is a research bit I thought was interesting that's in the right headspace for what I was looking for, but unfortunately it's British so isn't the cleanest fit for what most of the TUSCL goers experience. Or maybe londonguy will come along and days it's total bs lol.

The article does cite US studies with data gathered from Americans but you'll need to read down further into the study to find it. Whether or not a culture translates well when a person goes from one country to another but doesn't necessarily assimilate (or they're in a country but raised in a way that's culturally foreign) is another topic.

@wallanon blacks, latinos, and even whites in america, are not bringing the cultures from their countries of origin.

To be more specific, there is a black culture, latino culture and white culture, but they are separate from, for instance, russian culture or somalian/ethopian culture or colombian culture, even english culture.

Someone who recently came over here from a foreign country, sure, they will be heavily influenced by their home countries culture. But not someone who grew up in the US.

Its pretty clear that both latin and black cultures are very open to pimping and prostituting. Its prevalent in rap music too, and people who grow up listening to that music are more likely to find pimps, drug dealers, robbers and gangsters cool. And its no surprise then, that blacks followed by latinos, are the most likely to be pimps, drug dealers, robbers and gangsters.

Now the problem when it comes to sex workers in particular is that pimps have rules for their girls, especially black and/or american pimps. Rules like no kissing no cuddling no unpaid/extra time given to clients no bare services no daty no bbbj etc. these rules are extremely common amongst black pimps, but much less common amongst latin pimps, or latin/russian/asian escort agencies.

So when dealing with sex workers, the most important rule to follow is never deal with girls who talk like theyre black, or have black boyfriends, and dont deal with black women. Unless you want something basic like a handjob or CBJ, even the pimped out girls usually provide that service
