Reasons strippers work in strip clubs

I asked a young stripper last night to do a couple lap dances with me and then watched her for the next hour talking to a couple of guys her age. Having been in strip clubs hundreds of times, I have often seen girls do this and many times it is not something that ends with a lap dance sale. However, they do not do it for very long. Either they start to focus on making money so they can pay their bills or, if they can't force themselves to spend time with the guys who have money to spend, leave and get another job.

How common do you think this use of a strip club for female socializing is? What are some other categories of strippers not there to make money selling lap dances and how frequent is that? For example, they might like dancing on stage, dressing up, getting offered free drinks, getting offered free drugs, gossiping with the other strippers and other things I have not noticed.

At Rhode Island Dolls this is par for the course. Even if the dancer I want is sitting with a table filled with young guys, she'll be over. They have yet to figure out that a few cocktails, conversation and hanging with the massage girls is preferable to me at this point in my life.

I think it is quite frequent. In addition to your categories, I would include those seeking attention in the mix. They can walk around the club in their underwear, talk to guys who show interest and basically exchange their sex appeal for attention. They're on an ego trip. All this is done in a protected environment.

I talked to one girl that was on her first day working as a shot girl in a strip club. It was the only position they would offer her. She had lost her civilian job as a para legal and needed the money.

Sometimes a dancer's behavior depends on how much money she's already made that night or that week. Let's say it's a Saturday night and she already made bank on Thursday and Friday. She might be more inclined to just hang out with guys her age than work the floor for more dances, especially if it's an alcohol club and those guys are buying her drinks.

I used to visit a non-alcohol 18+ club. In the evenings, the young strippers would spend a lot of time talking to the young men, who were obviously on a budget. So I more often visited afternoons. The women were older and there to make money, meaning serving customers.

New dancers don't understand the business aspect of the club and get caught up in the drinking, drugs, social aspect. One of the top dancers I know gets a guy, does dances, quick break/clean up, repeat. The only time you see her sitting with a guy for long periods of time is if its worth it financially.

In general, I think socializing happens when shifts are slow and dancers are bored. And even when opportunity walks in, it’s tough for some to become focused again.

I've seen girls in a slow club give up and not talk to anyone.... Just the other day, I tried 4 different girls because it wasn't packed with dudes. But the one I wanted didn't even try, I'm sure I was better off without her

I had a similar conversation with a veteran dancer once. She said there were 3 basic types of dancers.

  1. Girls who loved the party atmosphere
  2. Girls who were there to make $$
  3. Girls who were too unreliable or lazy for regular jobs.

I think I'd add the girls who want to be influencers with the "hustler" cred to Parrothead's list. To me it rolls up under the first category of girls who wanted to be part of that lifestyle.

Problem is you’re not going to get those girls because they are busy partying with the broke young bucks - even if you get their temporary attention they are shitty performers who’s head is elsewhere.

Don’t forget they put PLs in categories also, instantly adding us to lists.

  • broke dude who can’t spend anything
  • misogynistic guy who hates women
  • mommas boy who needs hours of convincing
  • cheap ass custy who think he should get to fuck for $40 (no tip)
  • narcissistic dude who thinks they should be paying him
  • guy who nurses a drink for 2 hrs then buys one dance and bolts right after
  • and the needle in the haystack, the classic overspendeder who has wads of cash

The reasons girls do this are endless:

  • New and nervous about approaching older guys.
  • Tired or burned out and looking to coast.
  • Just lazy - maybe already made some money.
  • Waiting for food delivery or drug dealer or regular and wants to kill time.
  • Doesn't like men over a certain age.
  • Isn't getting a good vibe from the older guys she sees.
  • Isn't having a good day/night and doesn't want to exert herself.
  • [Insert countless other reasons here].

There's no way to know. But who cares? The net effect is the same. I have learned over many years not to spend much mental energy on the girls who don't seem to want my money. It's much more productive and fun to focus on those who do.

rd+1- Although OP subject is an interesting topic to delve into, it really does not help me find the dancers in the club who can provide me with the desired level of enjoyment. I'm not chasing after dancers glued to their I-phones or deeply engrossed in conversation with their group. I will at least meet dancers halfway who show a modicum of interest in me.

Like Rick above, I have learned over the years to focus more on the strippers who want my money. I do enjoy, though, observing what people do and then thinking about what I observe. People watching can be kind of entertaining.

I am the original poster who brought up the young stripper passing up me and my money at Brad's in Indianapolis so she could socialize with guys her own age. I went home and then the next night went to a different Indianapolis strip club, PT's. I almost immediately got lap dances from two different strippers who were way more attractive than the one who snubbed me the previous night. Going to strip clubs is a little like going fishing. Sometimes you catch a whole bunch of fish and other times you don't even get a nibble.

Most will tell you they aren’t robots and look for some fun with money earned. Some nights they know they made money so take off the gas. But many are hard core. Lately seen a number just leave if slow night, better things to do with time! Some clubs letting them go with pro rated tip out. Nice I guess. More money for those who stay later I guess, but have seen talent down late night sometimes!

Sure, she "may" be hanging out with guys chatting because she enjoys speaking with them and/or feels comfortable with them. Most likely, though, in addition to those points, the guys are paying them for their company. It's just not as noticeable as walking to VIP.

I've also encountered girls who DO seem to treat being at the club as an opportunity to socialize with their FEMALE friends / other dancers.

For those looking for the "fun" atmosphere, it seems counter intuitive since they have to pay management a fee every night. So if they don't do good because they were too busy having "fun" their essentially paying to work for free
