A question for TUSCL members who also browse USAsexguide

A question for the TUSCL members who might also browse reviews on USAsexguide.

After my latest security upgrade, my Mac laptop is being blocked from logging on to USASexguide. I get the following error message "502 Bad Gateway."

Have any of you TUSCL users encountered the same issue when logging on to USAsexguide? Does anyone have a suggested remedy? And on a similar theme, how bad are the security risks when using USAsexguide?

And, by the way, TUSCL has much better strip club reviews than USAsexguide, probably a result of the review process implemented by Founder. However, USAsexguide also covers massage parlors and escorts, a category that is not heavily covered on TUSCL. USA sexguide had many limitations (e.g., moderators who censor reviews for unpredictable reasons) but it does cover a niche that is not heavily covered on TUSCL.

@electronman i dont have an account on there but i do know they dont accept gmail accounts for their email signup. I tried signing up via gmail and they never send the account creation email out. And it didnt go to junk spam either. They seem to have an issue using gmail. So i havent yet signed up for them.

Also, cant you leave comments on there regarding specific providers without needing to write an official review on them? Youre saying they can delete those comments too? The value of it is those comments and threads show up in google searches and you dont need to have an account on their site to be able to read the comments and forum posts. That could really help as far as reporting a ROB/scammer. You can post their info on there and it will show up on google search anytime someone searches for that providers name or number. Unlike on TER where you need VIP status to see the reviews on providers.

Most web browsers default to encrypted connections. However, Usasexguide.nl is not correctly processing encrypted connections. You need to force your browser to not use encryption by using the URL usasexguide.nl

I don’t know if this means if your password is properly encrypted or not. Even more reason to never use your usasexguide password anywhere else.

Damn, something rewrote my link after submission! I hate that!

You need to put http:// in front of the usasexguide.nl host name.

Thanks for posting this tip. I’ve been getting the 502 Bad Gateway thing for a couple weeks. Googled solutions, and it seemed to indicate the problem is on their end. Anyway, using the http:// in front of the URL did the trick. In Arizona, USAIG is the best source for current AMP intel, and there’s lots to go around!

Be careful on there, my Bitdefender software blocks access to this site.

@chunkychicano: I've had some experience with moderators on USASG deleting my posts if I expressed caution about a provider or if I (politely) disagreed with a previous post and offered an alternative perspective.

@AZDD--- is that a typo? USAIG refers to aircraft insurance..... ?

@IfIGottaBe Damned: Thanks for the suggestion. the http:// does make a difference.

@londonguy--- good comment about Bitdefender. Any idea as to what level of risk I would be exposed to if I went to the web site?

Wow, not using HTTPS on a mongering site is like doing BBFS in Tijuana. You'll probably be fine, but could also get infected with numerous viruses, or worse.

@Electronman - yes, that’s a typo! Meant to be USASG.

@RonJax2: Yes, I could not agree more. In this day and age, it’s not that difficult to setup a properly encrypted. Any decent service provider will do that for you or otherwise support the capability.

Besides, since USASG is supported by ad revenue, you’d think the significant drop in traffic and corresponding revenue would more than justify any increased costs associated with running a properly encrypted site.

I would guess that it is Google censoring the email traffic, not that they can't (in principal) process an @mail address
@Frank: very true. I get that on all kinds of website, primarily Firefox doesn't work but Chrome or Edge will.

I tried to create an account once and was unsuccessful using G-mail. Since then I do still pull up their site and read the Atlanta forum. I use ESET MOD 32 antivirus and Malwarebytes and have had no problems. Every time I do open the page Malwarebytes blocks a website that advertises on there. (sildenafilviagra.com)

@IFIGottaBeDamned... I bet part of the problem is the whole site is running on 25 year old technology. Without replacing a bunch of shit I bet it's not even possible to use HTTPS.

It's a good reason to steer clear of USASG!

@RonJax2: You may very well be correct. I suppose if they don’t keep up with current standards and technology, they’ll limp along for awhile until they lose too much traffic through old blood leaving the site and not enough new blood coming onboard. At which point USASG will join the Pink Site in that great data center in the sky.

I generally just look at the strip club threads. Whenever I’ve looked at the streetwalker or escort threads, I quickly feel the need to take a shower.

Yep, whenever I visit USASG, I make sure to fully clear my browser’s cache and cookies. And I always use a paid, reputable VPN provider.

@Electronman, I've been using that site for years, and periodically some link in the various and sundry connections we call "the internet" decides that it's not a nice place to go and either blocks it or posts a warning. I've gotten the 502 error on occasion recently as well. Usually, closing the browser tab and opening a new one fixes it. I never use a bookmark, always typing in the site name. I think I used a mailinator email address to sign up for it; I honestly don't even remember.

@londonguy, I've never had a problem with anything dangerous from the site. But I don't ever click on links I can't read either, so...YMMV.

@ilbbaicnl, yes, because a few years ago, during the backpage/craigslist purge, they moved the entire operation, headquarters, servers, etc. to Europe to avoid being shut down.

@ilbbaicnl just pointing out, just because their location is russia or netherlands doesnt mean they specialize in, or have any affiliation with russian escorts or netherland escorts. TER is mostly for reviewing providers. Some providers might post advertisements on there but thats not what people usually use the site for.

Thanks for the excellent discussion and helpful hints. I've used the site for several years but I restrict my activity to reading reviews and I never click any of the advertising links. I've never had any virus issues on my MacBook. For those who travel through central Florida occasionally and who are curious, the Orlando forum on massage parlors has reports on some outstanding AMPs in Central Florida.

About 1/2 the time I can't access the site from my phone. Never an issue with my laptop.
