"Prosecutors in Virginia also received referrals but ultimately concluded they did not have sufficient evidence to make a case against any clients under the state's solicitation statute, said Laura Birnbaum, a spokesperson for Fairfax Commonwealth's Attorney Steve Descano."
Of course, there was plenty of evidence to file charges against the women for solcitation...
Puritans only care about feeling self righteous and profiteering, not positively impacting people who are actually being harmed. Shit like this should be swept under the rug. I’d imagine the main reason prosecutors & LE cared was because it was a network and they stood to profit from a trial. Independent escorts are small fish, stick with them and strippers. Or go to Reno or Germany
^Exactly. Years ago in December 2004, the "Emperor's Club V.I.P." opened an upscale escort business which dispatched more than 50 prostitutes to major cities to rendezvous with clients. They charged upwards of $5,000 per hour which is about $8,000 per hour today.
Former NY Governor Eliot Spitzer got caught. He was known as Client No. 9 He left office as governor within a week. Mr. Spitzer was not charged with a crime. Lawyers for the Emperor’s Club V.I.P. said Mr. Spitzer's celebrity made the case an unusually high-profile prosecution.
The article only mentions prosecution for pimping I think. Not for being a prostitute or john. Prostitution laws have to be written in a way that they would not apply to people giving gifts to their lovers. A prostitution arrest always seems to involve either the prostitute or john actually being an undercover officer. Escorts who know what they're doing only offer you their company for a certain amount of time, for a fixed price. They won't see you if you mention you require or want sex acts. Although, if an undercover cop posing as john asks for sex acts, that's arguably entrapment. They try to get the sex worker to offer sex acts before they ask for them.
