Another veterans/army related PR disaster from the Trump campaign last week. This might be the worst one yet.
Trump and team violated federal law to get a photo op at Arlington National Cemetery. They were informed about the law, and a site staffer tried to stop them from taking photos. But they pushed the staffer aside and went ahead. Afterwards, Trump's campaign manager publicly insulted the staffer. All of this forced the US Army to issue a statement rebuking the Trump campaign.
“Participants in the August 26th ceremony and the subsequent Section 60 visit were made aware of federal laws, Army regulations and DoD policies, which clearly prohibit political activities on cemetery grounds. An ANC employee who attempted to ensure adherence to these rules was abruptly pushed aside,” the Army spokesperson said in the statement on Thursday.
This is disgusting.
