one of the clubs in manhattan had a change in ownership in the late 90's. the club had hired an old timer as part of its security staff.
my final day ever at that club went like this: old timer approaches me and leads me to an area where we could talk a little more privately.
"the club is going to be making changes. new owners are going to try and make more money. so all of the stuff that was going on is done. lap dances, and the dances in the room (the wall dance room) we're stopping all that shit. you're welcome to stay if you want but i'm just letting you know of the changes."
i replied with, "ok. cool. thanks for being straight up with me." i shook his hand and just walked out.
Strip club security guards often get a bad rap for being either fat, lazy rent-a-cops or roided up young guys with a power trip who think they can score free pussy by escorting dancers to their car - but I had a great experience with an honest security guard. He noticed I dropped my wallet (which contained a lot of cash) while I was getting out of my car. He made the effort to track me down inside the club and give it to me.
I have had a couple of really good instances of a doorman or security in a Club ...most of the time they do get a bad rap and I guess like anything some of them are good and some of them are not so good
