    I guess we have to somewhat consider a lot of people that weren't alive when 9-11 happened may not understand how tragic it was for our country and the world in general. And come on buddy, you know this shouldn't be discussed here and it is destined to cause unnecessary drama and trouble.

    I have a different point of view on this. I am around a lot of teenagers and college age kids - via my own kids and their friends. Other than probably spending too much time on mind numbing social media these kids are way more worldly and in touch with US and global events than me and my more than capable peer group when I was young. Don’t sleep on these kids. Change is ever evolving but we shouldn’t misinterpret different as wrong.

    I agree with Motörhead. If 911 happened today, it would pull more people to bond together and help unify this country. We all remember how it did the same back then. How do you think W got re-elected as the last republican to win the popular vote? Don’t blame the kids. We fucked this country up.

    Another major terrorist attack by Muslim extremists would make younger people more hawkish and anti Muslim. Young people on the whole already dislike religion. Islam is not a race or an ethnic group.

How so many can support Hamas/Jihad/Iran/ect, and not even realize there has not been an election since Hamas was elected back in 2007, and that the 2nd Article in the Hamas Constitution (or whatever it is called) states the genocide of all Jews. How is this any different than The Third Reich? Kids today think they ae so worldly. They can't even figure out that a degree in Philosophy or Women's Studies with a student loan will never be monetized, and taxpayers' need to "forgive the debt". And somehow we have to take the words of these kids? Yeah, more worldy with information from FB and TicTok. Protesting during the 1960s w/Vietnam was different. Students were being drafted and sent off to a war. That is WAY DIFFERENT than these indoctrinated real PLs.

    I agree with WiseToo and Mogul. 9/11 happened because we had thought the world was safe. The Soviet Union had fallen, eastern Europe was freed, and the only trouble would be in small civil wars and hotspots like Somalia, Serbia, etc.. As we learned after the fact, Islamist terrorists had been at war with us for decades, but our government had ignored the ongoing attacks (the 1st WTC car bomb, Khobar Towers, USS Cole, twin African embassy bombings were all acts of war of perpetrated by a recognized government). Clinton and the democrats had ignored these attacks, as they were fearful of getting another bloody nose as was perceived in Mogadishu (Black Hawk Down). This was before Obama had said America needs to give up her sole superpower status. This was before the democrat party erased the southern border. This was before BLM, ANTIFA, ACAB, and defund. If it happened tomorrow, the Squad would refuse to blame Islamist terrorists. The above named domestic terror groups would celebrate in the streets unafraid of non-existent consequences. College professors would tell their classes how America's chickens had come home to roost. Democrat party spox would deny that any terrorists came in via the southern border and deny that unchecked illegal immigration was a contributing factor. The democrat party would not give war powers to any POTUS to send troops to destroy Al Qaeda and the Taliban. MSNBC, CNN, and wld4cock would be telling us all how it was false flag operation by white nationalists. The differences in American paradigms from 22 years ago are almost too many too count. We would be in the same boat vis-a-vis the arguments on Hamas and the Israelis.

    Dolfan is right, and so is CJ. But the question is what would the kids do? I guess that… Some would pick an ultra fridge contrarian view like supporting assholes who fly planes into buildings. There are always a few. Plenty would line up together against terrorists and the shitty governments who back them. Some would claim it was a hoax or god or something absurd, one or two of them would be on this board. A few would fuck with Muslim immigrants, spray paint mosques, etc. Some would say it’s complex and get mired in the facets of a global situation.

    A lot of people, way too many, never learned that Islam has been on a Crusade since ~700AD. They took over North Africa and Southern Europe. After 300 years of this, the Christian Crusades started. Today, people put blame on Christians and Templars however they (finally) reacted as Israel is doing with Hamas.     Well, sadly we will probably know the answer to that question soon. Think about this, and I mean objectively, politics aside: Russia invades Ukraine. We have invested over $100 billion in helping them defend themselves. Right or wrong, that's a big chunk of change that weakens us both financially and militarily, as a lot of that aid we're sending depletes our own munitions supply. Hamas attacks Israel. As one of our closest allies, one would think we will help them at LEAST as much as we do Ukraine. Whether that crisis will require as much $$$ and weapons assistance as Ukraine we don't know, but it will certainly be costly. AND we've already committed to a big change in our usual battle preparedness strategies by repositioning major naval assets. China threatening Taiwan. I'm sure plans are already in place to do SOMETHING if/when that happens. Whatever it is won't be cheap. So our economy and military capabilities are being drained and spread thin, at the same time that millions of unknown, unvetted individuals are crossing the southern border almost completely unopposed. Just year-to-date over 150 members of the terror-watch-list have been caught and detained. How many of the over 10,000 "got-aways" do you think fall into that category? Do you recall how many terrorists it took to execute the 9/11 attacks? Nineteen! By comparison, the next big attack is going to make September 11, 2001 seem like the looting of a San Francisco department store.

    The American Left used to have an reason for the promoting of hate of America - to elevate communism and help the USSR supplant the U.S. as the keeper of world order Now I’m not sure what their end game is - Chinese dominance? That would be a nightmare for the entire world. Now I think it’s just like muscle memory for the Lefties who dominate college campuses. It’s their brand and the extent of their thought.

    Also, young American men, on average, today have significantly lower testosterone than American men in 2001. I think that would definitely temper a strong, brave reaction to attack. Many more would react with “flight”, not “fight” unfortunately.

    @Muddy Everyone in the world, except the American people who live in DENIAL, knows: The September 11 “attacks” were perpetrated, arranged and committed by the U.S. federal government and Israel as a covert operation aimed at influencing domestic opinion and to persuade Americans to support the for profit invasions of Afghanistan and of Iraq. Al Qaeda was created by the CIA, the 9/11 hijackers were recruited and in the payroll of the CIA and Saudi intelligence.

    Working with people under 25 for over forty years I find the idea that the young of today are remotely close to prior generations in abilities and chances of success beyond hysterical. Young people today are as tough as a small Vanille cone at dq.

    ^ according to a number of reliable estimates 80% of American young adults are not fit to serve in our military and of the 20% that could qualify less than 10% will even consider military service. That’s a genuine concern that really needs to be addressed.

    Setting aside that very valid “fitness for duty” issue, who is going to make the personal sacrifices necessary to wage a war? Enlisting? Mommy & daddy will demand a “buy-out” option. Rationing? People now don’t even cook, they spend 3x for the convenience of pre-made or takeout. YOLO/FOMO baby. Patriotism is a colonialist patriarchy construct and must be resisted by the enlightened. Until a foreign guy with an assault rifle starts shooting people they know in their town and directly imposes inconveniences into their sheltered lives, nobody will do shit. They’ve been trained that big daddy govt will solve their problems. It’s going to be a shit show, absent done really horrendous and relatable disaster like a nuke, that threatens everyone randomly.     You can’t even incentivize the youth of today with free college education by serving. Granted if they did, they would waist on some liberal arts degree like basket weaving or feminist studies.
