New Oasis not open

I know some in Atlanta were looking forward to the new opening of the old PinUps club which was rumored to be today. They were not open and the sign hasn’t changed. Would have thought if opening was imminent there would have been something on a sign or the door. Dancer at another club and another site said it was opening today.

Yeah! I would have expected an announcement on Instagram, etc. They must be doing extensive remodeling.

I was told by a former Oasis dancer that it had been pushed back to August. Also heard from another that it might not even happen.

If it’s going to happen they should have the sale finalized and working on permits. I’ve driven by twice and didn’t see construction type stuff.

I’m kind of hopeful about the place.prices have gone up dramatically at Tattletales and they were always the most expensive. A competitor in the same market would be great. At its prime Oasis was probably my favorite club.

I am not making that drive until it is obviously open. I had been told the construction dumpsters were there earlier in the Spring, but who knows.

I’m not in the area all the time but I generally go to the Farmers market once a week so can easily check then. It’s just strange because multiple people told me today but for all I know their info could have come from the same place.

^^^ @goldmongerATL - there were no construction dumpsters in "early Spring" as it was still open as Pinups. They only closed up shop 5-6 weeks ago.

I heard straight from the general manager that today was supposed to be the day. I heard through the grapevine that there was a potential legal issue that delayed opening.

^^^ Just seems odd there would be an issue taking over a club already operating as a nude stripclub. Probably better off not using the Oasis name. May be more trouble than it's worth.

I hope Dekalb isn’t being a pain. Usually Dekalb, Fulton, and the City of Atlanta take the position they have better things to worry about unlike all the neighborhoods turned city.

I doubt it’s changing the name though. More likely than not it’s transferring permits if it’s that kind of issue.

The issue I heard about had nothing to do with the authorities. It was between old and new owners, but I’m not going to go into any details because it’s just rumor.

I meant "earlier (comma) in the Spring" as in before June 21st. Probably needed a comma there.

But you are probably right. It has only been closed about 6 weeks. Contractors could not have done very much in that time. I read a comment somewhere (no I do not have a link) that someone knew it was closed because there was a dumpster in front.

Actually now that I think about it, it was a Tattletales dancer that told me about the dumpster. So yeah, consider the source.

Would we expect them to be more of a day club, like Vivide or Diamond? Or, would they compete with Tattletales for a decent night scene?

At this point I just want it to be a club. We will figure out how to make the best of whatever they offer.
