Anyone from Arizona ?

FUCK IT!
Hah just kidding, I know there are several guys here from AZ.

The Cardinals football team just hired a Cleveland guy as their new head coach.
The guy is driven and has nerves of steel.

The Bidwell family has owned the Cardinals for 80 years. It doesn’t matter who the GM or Head Coach is. They will suck as long as the Bidwells own them.

Didn't Kingsbury book a one way ticket to Thailand right after getting fired?

Anyone written a review of a Bangkok club here lately?

I think anyone would have booked a one way flight the fuck out of here after dealing with an athlete who thinks he knows it all (kyler Murray) but in reality doesn’t know shit. The media pandered his ass into thinking he didn’t have to study, but every year he has been in the league saw a precipitous drop off in his performance as the year wore on, because opponents figures him out and he never made adjustments. His preparation sucked, and now after his injury Murray will probably not be able to run as well. Since he is a shorter QB I doubt he has much of a future in the NFL. Kingsburu knew this and was stuck in an impossible situation. Hope he hasn’t gone Hangover II on us, because Bangkok can eat you up!

The Bidwills are notorious for being shrewd and tight with their operations. They’ll never be like the Chiefs, Packers, Eagles, Patriots because it all starts from the top, and the cardinals have the shiftiest ownership in the league.

Ok I was impressed by the article I read about him so I posted it.
Granted his defense didn't stop KC but the law of averages says most defenses don't stop them.
In the 2 years he was DC in Philly he improved them from middle of the pack to top 2 and No. 1 ranking in pass defense in 2022, and No. 1 in sacks with 70.
That's impressive.

Now as a long suffering Browns follower I know the facts of bad ownership. the Browns have had 3 bad owners in a row going back to the one that moved the team to baltimore and IMO ATM we have the worst owner in the NFL, a guy that makes dan snyder look like a success. He has consistently picked the wrong people to run things and he constantly meddles in the operation of the team.
Remember Johnny Manziel?
The Browns owner bragged how he was stopped and had a conversation with a homeless drunk in the street as he was entering a restaurant that told him to pick manziel, he actually saw that as proof that manziel was the guy for the job. Then when the Browns were cruising with manziel on the sideline at 7-4 which was amazing for them word came down from the owner to bench the starter to start manziel and the team fell apart maybe winning 1 more game the rest of the way.
So yeah the bidwells might be bad but they're successes compared to haslam.

Anyway it's at times a crap shoot picking a head coach. A good assistant coach doesn't always equate to a good head coach. We had plenty of them here that prove that point, crennel, kitchens, etc.

Many in AZ might be pissed with the HC choice but how it plays out remains to be seen. You're stuck with him now, let it play out, good luck.

If you think that assistant coaches don’t make good head coaches, maybe I could get you to tell Davis and the Raiders that

Brian Flores took himself out of the running for the Cardinals HC job to take the Vikings DC job. I think that was a smart move. Between the Bidwills and Kyler Murray, the Cards are a shit show. He can turn the Vikings last place Defense around in a year, or two, then have his pick of HC openings.

Switching gears a little, nobody has mentioned anything about the Suns trade for Kevin Durant. I see the good and bad, hopefully the good
Plays out.

If they don’t get hurt and win a championship, then many free agents will want to come to a winning organization that will make up for the loss of 4 1st round draft choices. If they continue to be good, those draft choices won’t be that big of a loss because it will be so far down the line of picks. Also, the trade freed up $30 million to spend elsewhere for talent in coming years. The bad….4 lost draft pick and Mikel Bridges lighting it up for the Nets and Suns losing a top defender. Anyone else’s thought? (I know NBA) Even though it’s low on my concerns for sporting events.

As a loyal fan, I’d rather cheer for a team that steadily built from the draft. That seems like the way it should be done. Teams that trade their future for one shot using a 34 year old declining star just seems wrong to me. It’s a shortcut to make up for the inability to identify and develop talent. It feels like desperation, at least to me.
