Is it legal for clubs to scan IDs and store the information

Which agency do you contact if you think a club is engaging in things like false advertising or doing something else they shouldn’t be doing? There are some clubs that scan drivers licenses, are they allowed to actually store that information in a database, notate things like which customers are banned etc, all without informing people their ID info will be saved? What about clubs who post dancers lists on their website, and you go there and a bunch of names on the list aren’t even there, it’s the same dancers as last week or last month? Where would you report clubs that aren’t following the rules? BBB, FTC, CFPB?

Public Service Announcement (PSA) BigThirdEye is just cacaplop trying to swamp these forums with repetitive, stupid questions, either via his own threads or crashing other threads. But, as always, take a look at his posting history and judge for yourself. If engaging with his inane posts is fun for you, then go for it. Otherwise, don't think you're answering sincere questions. ~ [view link].Ishmael ~ April 29, 2022 “In this world, shipmates, sin that pays its way can travel freely, and without a passport; whereas Virtue, if a pauper, is stopped at all frontiers." ~Father Mapple via Herman Melville's "Moby Dick".

Depends on how long they store it and for what purpose.
