What's the best way to ensure an escort ad isn't a sting?

Was bored one night and saw a nice ad on one of the escort sites.
Started communicating then I got spooked.
Remembered a former buddy who signed up to see some escort in a hotel, saw it was a sting as they had plainclothes rounding up dudes in an area off to the side of the lobby, high-tailed it, didn't get caught.
a) he, at the time, was younger and much faster, I'm not outrunning anyone.
b) he didn't drive up there so no car to come back for
c) I don't need that kind of shot of adrenaline

Best I could think of is a response like "I'll pay you $50 to just chat for 20-30 mins and let's see where things go next time", eat the $50 for peace of mind and then going forward, if she's good ... keep it going

Any better ideas that are less expensive with faster fulfillment?

If she asks you what specifically you're wanting besides company, either you're going to get arrested, or she's going to get arrested sooner or later.

I've only ever meet one escort who would have a first meeting with you at a public place for $50. She was an ex porn star. When she told me I gave good head, it felt better than when I graduated from college.

I think the answer is do lots of research. Pick escorts that have lots of positive reviews. Never full proof, but much better than selecting the lowest price or the one that looks good in the photo.

Do research. If the escort does not have a positive history on the relevant websites, then don't contact them.

BirgSong, best never to use escort ads, dating services or anything like that. Select your women from f2f meeting and engaging with them in a completely civilian mode.

Disclaimer: I do not have any personal experience. However, based on what I've read, if the alleged escort wants to screen you before meeting, that's a sign that she's legit. After all, the police do not need to know your identity before arresting you.

Ishmael got the right answer: the one and only way to stack the deck in your favor, is to only see escorts with a positive review history that includes multiple reviews. Even that isn't 100% but it's about as good as you'll get
