Escaping jail the hard way

Should anyone in jail/prison be offered a painless poison pill? Seems like an obvious yes if you're on death row, given that botched executions are a thing. We have a constitutional right against cruel/unusual punishment. In jail/prison, seems to me like you're a least somewhat left to the mercy of other inmates. And that suicide could be less cruel than that.

Somewhat a personal concern. Not planing any crimes, but the way things are going, I could see myself becoming a political prisoner before I die. Probably due to Republicans. But also maybe due to Democrats. For being a PL. Or thinking nobody deserves to be in jail for making dubious claims. About election fraud, or anything else.
