Hershey: Halloween Candy Shortage Looms

newser.com

For those that don’t know… I think every industry is dealing with a nightmare on this right now. I know in my line of work we probably are operating at about 45% of the inventory we need to be at. Endless reasons for shortage, endless excuses. If it’s not manpower it’s trucking issues, packing issues, items sourced to making the products shortages, allocations on items being implemented.

If you’re wanting to buy something buy it now because it may not be there tomorrow. If you don’t NEED it, wait, someday prices may come down.

My thoughts are they reap what they sow. Much of the pain large companies are experiencing is because of their “just in time” practices.

And other companies are pre-announcing bullshit “shortages” to spur sales or raise prices. Who cares of Hersey has screwed up their production or delivery processes, hand out something else.

I completely stopped buying soda, because of the cost, I guess candy is next, not that I ever bought a lot of candy. There are easy fixes for this lower demand will lead to lower prices, in other words raise the price of non-essential goods, I will replace it with something that has value to me, or forego it entirely.

The good news is there's still plenty of candy corn, circus peanuts, Necco wafers, and Mary Jane's left over from last year. I'm not sure if some of those things are even biodegradable.

Fox News says Biden is secretly feeding all our Halloween candy to caravans of Central Americans coming north. They will come running across the unwalled parts of our southern border. They will run twice as fast as any border patrol agent, due to an extreme sugar high.

Candy corn is for throwing at others, not eating. Democrats want to ban candy corn with really pointy tips, because then it become military grade assault candy corn. Circus peanuts are for seeing how far you can pull the ends without it snapping apart in the middle. Neither really count as edible candy.

Good. None of you fat bastards or your fat little rugrats need more artificial sugar. LOL

At this point so-called shortages are artificial. They produce what's in demand the most. Skimp on other products. Then announce a shortage to try to make people think another price hike is justified. And people are dumb enough to fall for it. Also look at all the news about how prices won't go down but just may get higher slower when the economy is better. And we're just supposed to get used to it. Fuck them.

I'm not too worried about Hershey's because that is bottom of the barrel quality chocolate. But I have also noticed that sometimes my Ferrero rochers are a bit off. Can someone mention quality issues in addition to "ShORtaGes"?

Food quality has definitely gone down hill. Smaller portions and tastes are different. Meat is bad now. Especially chicken. You have to check for feathers

Yeah- I dont eat fast food too frequently unless I'm road tripping- but a few people have told me that the food at this or that fast food they used to frequent has gone downhill in taste even with the same staff same location etc. I guess their supply is different now

Not a problem for me. I live in a senior citizen sub division. No trick or treaters here.
