The long, slow demise of porn shops

The same five or size have been open around here for as long as I can remember. At least three of them also have some form of theater/room where people have historically gotten their rocks off.

I used to drive to Columbus several times a year and there was one right off the highway so I stopped in once on my way home for a quick look. Nothing interested me so I walked out without buying anything. That's the only time I've ever been in a porn/sex shop. I haven't been to Columbus for 4 or 5 years now so I don't know if the shop is still there.

There's one or at least was one less than 10 miles from my home but I never stopped in so I'm not even sure if it's still there.

There were a couple along the Brookpark road stretch in Cleveland where there were also around 8 strip clubs years back before the city of Cleveland did a land swap with the city of Brookpark and Brookpark cracked down. There's only 3 clubs along that stretch now and I honestly don't even know if the shops are still there or open because I don't even pay attention when I'm in the area. I used to hang with a girl that was hired as a counter clerk in one of those shops after I met her but I haven't seen her for around 5 years.

Anyway with all the porn easily available online plus online mail order outfits It's understandable if whatever remaining shops exist eventually close.

I still see some here and there right off interstates that appear to still be open. I always assumed they were there for truckers, wonder if truckers still stop considering everyone can get what they want (porn wise) on their phones.

I used to see this MILF that was pretty kinky and she liked to go to them to buy stripper heels, massage oil and lingerie, it would always get her revved up so I was always up to taking her to one.

I'm surprised there are any in business at all.

To the extent that they sell just porn, me too. Seems like most of the ones still in business have included toys, clothes, and places to be private in order to continue.

I think there are still some open. But, as folks have mentioned, they have changed from magazines and video - to other sexual products. Some may have booths for jacking and playing corn hole.

There is one in my area of NJ - on a highway. It appears to have changed from a place selling videos and magazines - to a sex toy and lingerie type of boutique. I’m not sure of the current jack shack status. I knew a stripper who bought outfits there - and I’d take her to pick up some new stuff - and sit and watch her model it for me. After I watched her show off her hot body - I’d fuck her in my car. I didn’t want to wait until after our trip to Red Lobster!

Corn hole 🤣🤣

Some have shifted the porn shops to a mix of media porn and lingerie. So they are more couples oriented. And then because of zoning, some have added space for strip clubs, hostess dancing, or hostess porno movie watching.

Unfortunately none of these are near me. :(

But the idea is good.

I'm seeing a lot of them try to be less seedy. They try to cater to couples and also sell a lot of stripper outfits and shoes now. Some still have porno booths

Because of zoning rules, the site are very valuable.

I havent see any go out of business in NJ. With fertility rates keep dropping and everyone moving online there needs to more not less of them.
