LA Strip Clubs

motorhead
Fat, drunk and stupid is no way to go through life
For whatever reason, I would think that Los Angeles would be a strip club mecca, but browsing the section on LA area clubs, I find relatively few reviews. And I do not see any regular contributors to this board that are from the LA area.

What's the deal - do all the hot girls from LA work in porn rather than in strip clubs? (or maybe they head to Vegas) Or do SoCal dudes think they are too cool to be TUSCL members?

Look for the clubs out by City of Industry, which is east of downtown LA. There are a couple of clubs there (Hawaii Theatre, and Spearmint Rhino) that are in the TUSCL top 40 right now. I have been to Spearmint Rhino. My experience is similar to more recent reviews. High quality girls, not a lot of tipping and tableside dancing. Instead, the girls want to take you back to VIP (booths at Spearmint) where the basic deal is 3 dances for $120, and the contact is generally very high. I went for 6 dances and was completely satisfied if somewhat poorer.

I have limited experience with clubs in Van Nuys, north of downttown toward the San Fernando valley (the porn center of America). The club I went to most often way back (Classy Lady) has gone downhill. There is a SPearmint Rhino in that area also, but reported mileage is low.

I think you should stay away from clubs in the LAX (airport) area. Value for $$ is low.

sorry to offend lopaw....I have a general idea where most of the regulars are from based on their reviews, but you are one I missed....I'm just a country boy from the midwest...we make mistakes too

    and harrydave, thanks for info

No harm, no foul david120....just havin a bit o' fun with ya!

I was serious about zbone, tho....it's a pretty good resource for all things LA/OC concerning stripclubs. Most of the "official" club reviews are quite old, but the readers forum can be very informative and up-to-date...and it can be unintentionally hilarious at times.

Yeah, zbone was my original resource for LA club info 5 or more years ago. Whoever zbone is, he ran out of steam, but he had prodigious output for a while. Kind of like Bones on this board.

d120- You seem to be a DV fan, based upon your reviews. The 1 in No. Hollywood seems to get a good no. of reviews, especially on zbone. You also seem to like eye candy over mileage- I would suggest 4Play or Bare Ellegance for that.

I second minnow's recommendation for Bare Elegance. It is like a hang out for nude fashion models...but the mileage I got from those models ranged from air all the way to clothed sexual assault.

Bare Elegance is my second home. Highly recommended for stunning women & pleasant atmosphere. My mileage is crazy, but I've invested alot of time & $$$ there, so I'd better be getting good service!

    YMWV, of course.

I've have not been to all that many clubs in the LA area but the ones I've been at are disappointing compared to what I get in Vegas

LA area clubs (and that's a big area) are very low percentage clubs, as a rule. By that I mean they are very expensive and you generally don't get much for your money. The reason there are few postings is that there is not really much to post. The LA area, in my opinion is a stripclub wasteland. That's why I go elsewhere to spend my stripping dollar. Even Vegas is getting bad these days. For good strip clubs I go to Detroit, Florida (some clubs), Dallas, and Houston (although I haven't been there in a little while). I keep posted on this site where the best action is and plan accordingly. A good strip club will provide beautiful and friendly girls, consistently great contact dances, abundant extras, at reasonable prices. Those qualities are rare or non-existent in the LA area. That's why I recommend going elsewhere.

Teller- I partially agree with you. While LA area isn't the best bang for $$, calling it a stripclub wasteland is over the line. A stripclub wasteland is 1 that has VERY FEW clubs PERIOD!!! Or LITTLE OR NO MILEAGE!!! I can tell that you've never been to places like Cincy, BoiseID, Omaha or LincolnNE, Salt Lake City. Seeing that you've only written up (been to) 4 clubs in LA area, how can you call it a wasteland based on that?? Yeah, I've encountered some low-mi dancers @ Bare. The good have far outweighed the bad. What do you consider to be "a reasonable price for extras"? It seems to me that going to Champagne Room, and commiting to $300 or so is a pre-requisite to getting the extras. Like many SC patrons, I like to get away with a lot of crap.To get away with that crap just short of extras costs often $20-$40 per clipped song in LA area vs $20-$30 full length in a lot of areas.(But, again, several LA clubs don't have silly rules about keeping both feet on floor). If I'm on a business trip, I'm not going to let clipped songs keep me from going to clubs.(unless, maybe, I know I'll be going to certain TX or FL clubs soon). So,teller, please take trip to downtown Cincy, visit Deja Vu(no contact), then the 3 dives across the river in Newport, and let me know if you have a new definition of stripclub wasteland.

minnow - I have been engaging in a bit of hyperbole in designating this area as a wasteland of strip clubs. It is born of frustration of many disappointments in many strip clubs. I may have posted reviews of relatively few LA-area clubs, but since I'm a native, I have visited more than a few over the years. Some have been satisfactory for a time. But many have just been not worth the effort. After visitng clubs in other areas and making the inevitable comparisons, I just feel that LA clubs (that includes Orange County too) do not measure up with the best. You would think that they would. I don't go out of my way to visit places like Salt Lake City (cough!) to sample the clubs. And there are areas (Chicago, for example) that I believe are worse than LA. Since I live around here, I am a bit disappointed that we don't have a club of the caliber of Flight Club in Michigan, for example. I purposely avoid areas like Cincinnati or Lexington or even Austin that I have been to before and been disappointed in or that have poor reviews. LA is, to give you your point, not the worst in the country. But if I lived elsewhere, I would not come here expecting great strip clubs.

Oooo-kay, I think I see your point. I guess you don't consider COI, or VN/NH clubs to be part of LA area. OC is perhaps one of most (conservative, right wing??) counties around. We have 4 common reviewed clubs, plus I've been to( though not in a while) 7 clubs in Vegas & Houston that you reviewed. So, with that frame of reference, I can see how one can wish the best qualities of other cities upon your local clubs, and be dissapointed that there are no true emporiums in LA, ala top Dallas,Vegas, or Houston clubs.

I've never been to an LA club, but I think the problem is high expectations. With all the would-be starlets and porn chicks around town and its legend as the birthplace of the modern hedonistic lifestyle, you would think LA would have everything going for it. It just doesn't seem right that its clubs aren't among the best anywhere. Personally, I take some pleasure in hearing that LA clubs aren't all that great. They've got too many other ways to have fun out there as it is. If they had the best strip clubs they probably wouldn't appreciate them.

I have been to the Spearmint Rhino in the City of Industry very often. It used to be quite good. Lately the talent has fallen off. Plus, paying $20 or $40 for a one minute forty-five second dance is not my idea of good value, especially when the dancers are not all that hot. I have been to the Hawaii Theater. Again, the talent is not that great. But you can get pretty much anything you want in the VIP with the right girl, if you can find one that you'd be willing to unload on. I have been to the other clubs in the COI but after looking the situation over,
I saw no future in either of them. True, I don't get out to the Valley much. So I really don't have too much to say about that region. Haven't heard much good about the clubs there though. I believe I have reviewed more than four clubs in this area, but so long ago that the reviews have been terminated. I will not list all the clubs I have been to and have not reviewed. It is a reasonably long list. I don't think there are too many serious club goers (who have been elsewhere) that think LA is a great or even good strip club region.
