Kind of classless way to opt out of a season by not even telling the team before you just fail to show up for a game. Of course he plays for New York so you can't really expect much class.

I think there was a quote by the owner of the Pirates about 1940 or so. Their star player had a monster year and the owner cut his salary. When asked why he said they had finished last and could have finished last without him.
