Lurker Steps Up
Crosscut
Florida
Interesting group you have here. Not certain how much I have to contribute, but I've been to the rodeo a couple of times.
Up to about age forty, I only knew of clubs in which the dancers looked like they fell off the back of somebody's motorcycle. Got a hint that there was more out there in the clubs of East St. Louis, Illinois (PTs and Diamond Club).
Life changed drastically one night as part of a group making its first visit to Tampa's Mons Venus. Talk about sensory overload. Stunning women, twenty years younger. New horizons of tactile sensations. Most vivid memory of that night was having an exquisite breast pressed to my disbelieving lips. Felt like a high school kid.
Learned two things that night. One: I wanted more. Two: Never again travel with a group. The only two things that will decide when it's time to leave are me or my wallet.
From then on, any trip to Florida somehow got routed through Tampa. You know you've got a problem when you fly in and out of Tampa and your destination is Daytona. But, after all, the rental car was unlimited mileage.
Favorite Clubs:
The combination of Seductions and Sundowner in Niagara Falls, CN. I can't believe that area, with its overall live and let live approach---not to mention Cuban cigars, isn't more popular.
The Booby Trap in Pompano Beach, FL has that seamy, but not too seamy aura that makes it right for me. The only place I've ever found where the Champagne room paid off in enough off-the-chart value to make it worthwhile.
Haven't been back to Tampa in a while but still have a warm place in my heart for the moveable feast it once was. Take out from Mons and 2001 were extravagant experiences, but worthwhile. Ybor Strip had its day. Could never get comfortable with the Lipstixx thing, but to each his own.
Regrets...a few, but too few to mention.
Recent travels brought me to the Mens Club of Charlotte, NC and its "electric chair dances"---think of your arms being strapped to the chair arms, and you'll get the idea.
Made a couple of runs south to PP Columbia, and I definitely see what everyone is talking about.
I'll be chiming in from time to time. If I run afoul of the rules of the road, let me know.

Chandler pretty much nailed the Lipstixx experience. And curiously enough we were there in about the same time frame. I understand they have a new location rather than the one I visited in the bowels of Drew Park, and it couldn't help but be an upgrade.
The ambience was what you would expect if someone opened a club in their garage. I remember that my one drink minimum was a can of soda (came unopened, nice touch)
The VIP room did double duty as the route the dancers took to the dressing room. I remember sitting on a wooden bench, while the other dancers walked by as I received an HJ (she called it a "private touch") from a dancer who was sitting on a picnic cooler which, it was apparent, had recently held the aforementioned unopened can of soda.
Some things I remember despite my best efforts to forget.
Book Guy, my only trip to Memphis, sadly, wouldn't accomodate any club activity---GREAT music though. As to Mitchell Brothers in San Francisco, I can't list it as a favorite, but it was one of those experiences every reader of this board needs to have once. It is the most wide open and multi-faceted entertainment facility an adult male could imagine. The theme rooms, the on premises porn theater, the complete lack of pretense.
The ladies I encountered were strictly of the "churn 'em and burn 'em" school of thinking, but I believe that is by the operator's design. You've got to admire the ingenuity it takes to sell tokens to activate timers on the private rooms.
That being said, I went back two more times.
Very nice first posting and very informative. Thank you.
