I assume that 12PM means 12 noon. (Sorry, but "12AM" and "12PM" annoy me.)

Jump to latestThanks. I did not know that this convention exists. Since AM means ante median (before noon) and PM means post meridian (after noon)., it has always seemed to me that 12PM is nonsense--how can it be noon and after noon at once?
Because after the first second ticks, you're in the PM. Right?
Is everyone having to wear masks? Lol
The “m” in “pm” comes from the Latin “meridiem” which means mid-day. It’s easy to see 12 am as twelve hours “ante” (or before) mid-day. Not sure how to make sense of 12 pm. It should be zero.

The American Heritage Dictionary of the English Language states "By convention, 12 AM denotes midnight and 12 PM denotes noon. Because of the potential for confusion, it is advisable to use 12 noon and 12 midnight."
All that being said, technically they could open at midnight on June 8. A bar in Kalkaska, MI opened at midnight when their opening day came.
