Let's say the current COVID19 situation leads to an economic downturn. Any thoughts on how this will impact the stripclub scene? Postive/negative. I did not regularly attend stripclubs at the time of the 2008/2009 crisis but started to in 2010/2011. It seems in my local area (DC/Baltimore) as the economic conditions have improved, the talent and willingness to provide quality service, either extras, or just good lapdances, has lessened. We have been at near full employment around here for awhile. Wondering if a downturn could perhaps lead some ladies to look at the option of stripping that had not in the past, and in addition, perhaps lead to a better experience at the club.
If people have less disposable income then strip clubs will suffer. There is an over saturation of girls as is in s9me areas. In Los Angeles for example they'll hire just about anyone coz they make money off of housefees drink sales etc.
But your question is basically if we think more beoke seaperate women will be willing to prostitute tjemaelves for less money in an economic downturn.
^ If anything, quality usually gets worse during a prolonged economic slump. I saw it happen in 2001/2002 and again in 2008/2009.
There is a common misconception that strip clubs compete against vanilla jobs for talent. So as the theory goes, the tougher it is to get good vanilla work, the more likely it is for hot girls to turn to stripping.
But truth be told, retail, waitressing and other vanilla jobs are rarely impossible to find for young pretty white girls, downturn or not. The real question is whether or not clubs offer enough of a premium to make taking their clothes off and dealing with the associated personal fallout worthwhile. When clubs are slow and a girl can't make much more than she can waiting tables, then the answer is no. In 2009, I saw a lot of hot girls drop out of the business to cut hair, wait tables and do other more steady work.
But when times are good and girls can take down large scores, it's a different ballgame. Over these ;last couple of years, the talent in my local clubs has improved dramatically. Even a local dive that I enjoy has picked up a lot of higher grade talent. The clubs are busier than I have ever seen them and the result is a lot of high grade ass.
Now on the positive side, IME OTC opportunities tend to multiply when a downturn hits. Some of my best OTC adventures happened in 2009, including some with girls who I never could have coaxed out of my local club even a year earlier because they were already making too much ITC.
Shit, the more I think about this, the more I'm starting to look forward to the next downturn. With all the fresh money flowing into the local clubs lately, OTC is getting more expensive and less reliable. I know that it's not a good thing to wish for, but it would be just the thing to make some well fed hotties a little hungrier.
Dugan broke it down pretty-well - probably the biggest factor that makes dancers leave the biz/clubs is not enough $$$ in the clubs (not enough of a premium for them to sell their dignity 😄) - and as he mentioned, when biz is slow, the dancers that stick it out will often be more-willing to work with a fair-offer vs hold-out for top-dollar.
But what's really fun is when you catch the best ones on the down slope, before they finally decide that the premium to "sell their dignity" (as Papi put it) just isn't there anymore. It takes girls time to finally realize that the money isn't coming back anytime soon and to adjust their expenses accordingly, sometimes many months.
During this window in 2009, some of my best OTC memories were formed with two hot as hell girls who, I am convinced through my historical interactions with them, had never previously gone OTC. They eventually left the biz after no doubt making some major lifestyle changes, but for a time their eagerness to replace some of that lost income overcame their longstanding reluctance to go OTC.
One of my ATFs was at her peak in 2008-2009. The club was a park n' fight, so the club wasn't hit that hard since it wasn't a big dollar place anyway. Lots of fun at that place right up until the raid...
During my travels in the 2007 - 2010 period, the clubs were busier, the girls were hotter and more plentiful, and the action in clubs, even stage side, was more blatant. I don't know if that was a function of the recession, but I wish the majority of the clubs I go to now could turn back the clock.
I personally think that economic down turns lead to strippers dropping out of the SC scene, because theres fewer PL with disposable income giving strippers attention at the club. The biggest factor when strippers start dancing is attention and not money. As rick mentioned the talent of strippers has been going down, and my theory is technology has improved and women get attention online. If you anaylis the difference of a hot stripper or hot waiters thier lifes are not really that different, except one girl takes off her clothes.
In some cities, one or two industries drive the economy and especially the strip clubs. I’ve seen situations where a real estate slump has wiped out realtors and the club scene slumped dramatically. Clubs were like a ghost town for a year or two. Same with oil and gas and automotive.
I think Rick has it right. At the start of the downturn the same girls want to keep the same lifestyle on less customers which will make them more open. But at the bottom it may not be worth it for that same girl to dance at all. It's kind of like slow club vs dead club; in a slow club girls are motivated to make that money any way they can. In a dead club they go home Early.

Anyway, just my thoughts fwiw.
Strip clubs don't offer that much of an incentive if they can get money elsewhere.

Ah, to have another run like that again. 😃
