Two people were shot at one of the four strip clubs in this area. Babe's is one of my two preferred locations, the other being Looker's. A lot of people believe that Babe's has been the most affected by the closure of a nightclub called Club Blu that was shut because of even more shootings and complaints fueled by lax oversight from lazy, cheapskate owners and management. At this point, I think Looker's might be the only place in town without a recent 2AMer.

FMPD investigating overnight shooting at Babe’s Night Club
Fort Myers Police say they are on the scene of a shooting at Babe’s Night Club, on U.S. 41. where two men were transported to Lee Memorial Hospital with non-life-threatening wounds.
Police have secured the scene and are searching for the shooter who they believe acted alone, and then fled the scene in his vehicle.
The suspect lost control of his car, crashing near the intersection of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Boulevard and U.S. 41 and fled on foot. Motorists should be advised that traffic is affected in both directions of MLK, Jr. Boulevard as the scene is investigated.
Police say this is an isolated incident and there is no danger to the public.

I know the quality of reporting is shit and without any useful detail. That's just what we get in a small market. Coming from a broadcasting giant, like Chicago, it drives me nuts. It's even worse than New Orleans.
