I used to dislike Trump. I thought he was an idiot and unqualified to be president. I actually voted for Hillary back in 2016. The truth is though, his presidency hasn't been too bad. And he's done a lot of good things as well. His tax cuts have caused economic booms, his strike on Bashar Al Assad showed the dictators of the world that our president won't let them get away with doing despicable things, he finally stood up to China which no previous president was willing to do, he prevented us from getting into a war with Iran despite the war-hawks surrounding him pushing him to attack, and recently, he signed a bill increasing federal penalties for animal cruelty as a felony which could result in up to seven years in prison.
Trump is also one of the few presidents that I trust not to push legislature that threatens our civil liberties. Trump does not care about virtue signalling and trying to push laws that censor anything, restrict prostitution, or punish drug users. How many politicians can you say you truly trust to not try and do stuff like that? Trump is not a defender of those civil liberties necessarily, but I'm satisfied enough with a politician that will just leave things alone. Trump is also a major opponent of political correctness, and has stood toe to toe against the speech police.
The fact that Trump did this, I think is the #1 reason for Trump derangement syndrome. Because Trump stood up to the speech police and got away with it. He wounded their pride, their confidence in their ability to control the public, and they've been after him ever since. They've made it their mission to get him out of office by any means necessary. And the corruption now has become so blatantly obvious that it is threatening our country.
Social media and tech giants are actively working to rig elections in favor of the Democrat party.
92% of the media's coverage of Donald Trump has been negative. 92% fucking percent.
The media's obsession with Trump runs so deep that there are some nights where close to 40% of all airtime coverage is devoted to Trump (to be honest, I thought it would be higher).
The worst part about it though is how the media has essentially become a state-run tool of the Democrat party. Sharyl Attkissan goes into detail in her book "Stonewalled" on the scary extent to which the Obama administration attempted to control all the information. There is absolutely no objectivity in the media anymore. Stories which do not favor the Democrat party are covered up and they are making up blatant lies to further their agenda. The worst part about it though is the way they maliciously attack innocent people like Nicholas Sandmann. Making up lies to destroy their lives and reputation just to gain a political edge.
I could handle the bias, and I could even handle spinning the truth about things. But what I can not forgive is the malice behind attacking innocent people. Nicholas Sandmann was one victim, but how many countless police officers just trying to do their job have also become victims of the media mob? What about Donald Trump himself? The media has convinced a large portion of the population that a man who is really just trying to do the best job he can, whether you agree with it or not, is evil. By doing this stuff, the media has become a direct threat to everyone's safety. Political correctness, cancel culture, and false accusations have become a direct threat to everyone's safety. At this point, even people who are left of center, but not left-wing enough, can become a target.
And the best way to fight against all that is by re-electing Trump in 2020, and sending the message that the left clearly did not get in 2016 that these autocratic tactics are not going to work, and Americans are not going to let them subject the country to mob rule. I don't want the media's witch hunt to be successful, and the idea of us living in a country where your opinions can end your life terrifies me. For that reason, for sure I am going to be voting for Trump in 2020.
