When the grammar is so bad you can't understand what the person is saying then it does matter on an internet forum. Are people going to jump all over you for a misplaced comma or slightly misspelled word? No. However, when your sentences are so broken they don't convey meaning, or if you type out a huge block of text without separating it into paragraphs, then people might care.
