Discussion #12: my friend was astonished when I told her this.

*****disclaimer : No, I am not romanticzing being solely career minded. I just wanna talk about what personally makes me happy . as a result , I do not think that a woman who is a boss in corporate america is any better than a woman who devotes her life to taking care of kids and being a housewife.

Friend : complained about not the fact that she might not married

Me: I'm ok with the fact that I might not married..

Her: REALLY?!

ME: yeah(I would like to get married but if it doesnt happen I'll be ok cuz I can still have kids and great friends)

Me in my head cuz if I told her this i'd sound crazy : the only thing I wanna get married to is graduating as valedictorian of my law school class. If I do that , I'll b happy for the next century of my life cuz how the fuck can anything be more satisfying than "highest honors " written next to ur law degree and therefore knowing you are legal boss bitch<33

You cant say it not like that when ive never told you what I think it is. You obviously assume that I think the law is some sort of golden ticket to something ......interesting assumption cuz ive never told you my perspective of what I think about the actual practice of law looks like.

" I might not married"

I would strongly recommend you take a grammar class if you want to try to get top 10 percent in law school.

What's your native language again?

And raising a kid on your own while working sounds insane

Nicole, law school is going to be competitive, lots of smart people there. And then what you do after probably does not depend on graduating first in your class.

But I agree, lawyers can often do very important things. Some do, some don't.

As far as being a housewife, well many feel that that is an undesirable role which women have been forced into.

The Israeli Kibbutz Movement was created so that women would be free from such.

And then here, a strong advocacy for avoiding domesticity. amazon.com

Like Hillary Clinton said, "Well I could have spent my life baking cookies." And, "I'm not Tammy Wynette."

She said lots of things like that. But then each time her handlers tackled her and she was not seen again until she had been re-educated, and given a new hairdo. She was taught not to say things like that, to use her husband's name, and finally she was indeed shown baking cookies.

There are powerful forces involved in this, and most of them are not good.

The organization which I am building will need to have lots and lots of expert lawyers, so that we can do what we want, get the financial benefit, and also stay out of trouble.
