“An American Dilemma: The Negro Problem and Modern Democracy” an study authored by Swedish Nobel-laureate economist Gunnar Myrdal is used by PBS documentary “American Denial” to examine racism in America.
Why so many Americans still deny racism exists when the evidence is everywhere?
The documentary shows the pattern of racial oppression that we have actively recreated throughout history to the present moment -- while just as actively denying its experience and consequences .
Title says it all.

Racism exists but that doesn’t mean that all whites are racist. Also, systemic racism existed many decades ago but that doesn’t mean that it exists today. Finally, because racism exists doesn’t mean that it is impossible for people of color to succeed.
