Even with casual sex, it has to be about a real connection even if its a vapid one. There's a huge difference between wanting to fuck the person you're with and just wanting to fuck.

In my observation, most of the time with casual sex, it goes off because both parties are open to a relationship forming. And so if one wants to maximize the sex, then they should let it escalate as rapidly as possible, because it might not last very long.
