OT: What the hell is wrong with Japanses guys

Okay, so far today I have run across stories where Japanese guys marry

1) a hologram of a 16 year old singing character
2) a pillow
3) a anime character
4) a video game character
5) a robot
6) a doll and not the human kind
7) a nitendo 3DS character

Are there no living women left in Japan or do they just have really bad social skills. Hell the company that supplied the hologram character has a package deal that includes a hologram projector and a "marriage license" and they claim they have sold over 3000 units.
