Lido Room NYC Police Raids

I heard that Lido Room (underground lap dance club) in NYC got raided twice this week by police. The girls and the customers ran away. Really scary. Does anybody know the details of what happened? Lido emailed saying there were renovations and a scheduling conflict to cancel the other days this week. Sounds like it's not safe to frequent these parties anymore. Sucks because it was one of the better values in Manhattan and was a good income stream for the girls. Looks like any club that gets too big and popular is a target. Thanks.

Raided twice in a week in NYC? Somebody must've really gotten on the "fuck you, pay me" list.

If they started cracking down so heavily on the legit clubs it makes sense they would target the underground ones as well.

WTF is an "underground" strip club anyway?

^^^ so some guys have a bunch of strippers in a random house, or building, sell drinks, lapdances and “other” services but operate with no license, but will let just about anyone in as long as they can find the entrance.

Since it is “underground” obviously you can get “services” there you normally can’t get at a normal strip club.

Lido is a members only club that rents venues in NYC, typically a setup with a bar and a separate area where they can put couches for lap dances. Seems to be pretty above board, i.e. not an extras type place, but not sure what the licensing and zoning implications are. They put out a message Thurs of last week indicating the event was cancelled for that night due to 'a scheduling conflict', but that Friday and Saturday events (at different locations) were still on as scheduled. They put out another message Saturday afternoon that the event for that night was cancelled due to 'a substantial renovation', but events would continue the next week. No messages with locations for events this week have come out, which would support your report of a police bust, but I haven't been able to find any news of such by searching the web.

A promoter Paul Drohan, also known as Dinosaur, was fired by Lido over two months ago for extorting money from the venues and sexually harassing the dances. In revenge for being fired, Drohan filed a false and malicious complaint against Lido with the New York State Liquor Association (SLA). As a result, the SLA, along with the local NYPD, made two inspections of Lido, to see if there was any prostitution or other illegal activity going on. Lido came out clean and did not get shut down. However, the police presence was a real buzz kill, and some of the customers and dancers left.

I can't believe there was a police raid at the Lido Room. Lido is one of the cleanest clubs in New York City. There are a lot of licensed security guards there each night. The dancers are "girl next door" types who are not involved in drugs, prostitution, or any illegal activity. There are no private rooms there and no opportunity for prostitution or drugs. The rules appear strict and the girls will not give out their phone numbers.

Platinum, did you poll every single girl there to ascertain whether you could get a phone number? If not then shut the fuck up.

It's one thing to come on here and promote your services straight up. We can all respect that. it's another to act like an assclown and post fake customer experiences like a starstruck effeminate who takes it up the ass from Lido's male staff when he isn't on here pretending to visit the ladies.

I asked a girl for her phone number and she said that it is against the Club rules and could result in getting her fired.

Lido, I think you meant to post that response to Red using your PlatinumNYC account. Oops. ;)

The no phone number rule is well known at Lido and that represents the response that any customer would get from a Lido dancer.

Right Lido, because it's a well known fact that dancers universally follow all of the rules set for them by their clubs. ;)

I'm starting to agree with Red that you should just shut the fuck up already before you trip over yourself yet again or say something even dumber than that last statement.

I was wondering what Juice would be doing since he found this site boring. I see he’s posting as three different aliases in this thread -

Looks like Lido is in trouble, definitely not as clean and open for business as the many fake accounts claim. No events were announced for this week (except Wed which was canceled hours after the email went out). Where will the girls go?

Dolfan, I suspect that finding a venue has now become part of the challenge. I'm fairly confident that the venues they were using are not compliant with current NYC adult entertainment zoning requirements. Also, these venues' liquor licenses likely include conditions that make adult offerings problematic. It was one thing when everything was UTR and nobody was complaining, but quite another once scrutiny was brought down on these arrangements by the Drohan drama.

That sounds right Rick, I suspect that finding a compliant venue while under scrutiny is the issue. Too bad, I really liked the place, there were a couple of dancers I’ll definitely miss.

Rosewood is the spiritual successor to Lido. Veil might be the financial successor.

Lido got visited by the cops again this week, so it looks like it's done. The girls don't want to go back. Rosewood is the most legit alternative with many Lido guys and girls going there now. It's usually in the same location, and they scan everyone's ID. But Lido was the best.

Lol, another troll account exposed. Guess it's hard work keeping track of what account you're logged into. Luckily I only have one.

Lol, I'm not a troll if that's what you think. Feel free to check my history. Rosewood is not as good as Lido. Songs are half the time like 2 minutes and run together. There are fewer girls, and the quality is not as good as Lido. But the alternatives like C'est, Masked, and Corporate Door are smaller. If you know of any good parties, I'm open to hearing. I got an email for a new one called LivePlayLove that isn't open yet. Never been. Trying to share the info I have because options are limited in Manhattan.

Dolfan I wasn't talking about you, I was talking about PlatinumNYC/Lido_mgnt. They seem to be the same person as they made the usual dumb ass troll slip up of posting something that was obviously meant to be posted under their other account. Too bad also, as I was really fooled at first that the Lido_mgnt account was actually an owner or manager. Now I see that it was BS.

It's best to avoid all Underground Lap Dance Parties for the next few months or so. If Lido can get raided then it's likely the other smaller ones will get raided (again for some). Seems like Police are watching all Underground Lap Dance places then.

Thanks for sharing updates. Best to stay safe from all for now, just to be safe.

Well, most ladies went to Rosewood where raids are less likely to happen because of their standing license, and the license of the building where it is housed itself. That's already a double confidence there for us. Their security is not as strong as Lido though where there's a house mom, staff and a couple guards keeping an eye ON the floor. In Rosewood we have to assert our boundaries stronger which makes for a good and safe club culture, I'd say. And I appreciate that with misbehavior, once reported, is kept an eye on. I've seen Rosewood bounce someone who misbehaved. I do miss Lido sometimes, probably because it was my first dancing experience. But don't get stigmatized by these political war between Lido and Drohan. Both clubs are clean and great and it's sad this happened all because of some ego war. I wish Lido runs back up so it can get easier on either clubs for ladies to earn. Right now everyone is packed in Rosewood. So guys, please come! LOL
I'm unapologetically plugging that if you're curious and it's your first time, say you're invited by me. And just tell them my handle name "JennyHeat." Happy holidays!

Lido has resurfaced as VIP Lounge (among several names), and have been using stripclubs as venues. Any intel, especially on service level, would be appreciated. Thanks.

Lido at Scores is normal Scores. You just enter through the girls door on different street ("service entrance") and get a grey VIP wirstband, you are then released on the first floor. Same no touch for floor cocktail chair dances for $20, $750 for 30 $1200 for 1 hr, environment that every guy who walks in front door gets. There is no subset or special area for Post-Lido. The Sapphire 39 theoretically was built to have 2 separate businesses. I've been on the unused 2nd FL for meet the porn star night, so the space exists to make a 2nd private party isolated from normal Sapphire 39. Someone has to TOFTT if VIP Lounge at Sapphire 39 really uses Floor 2 or not, or 100% exact same mainfloor experience.

Sounds like the promoter of Lido is trying to monetize it's death by getting paid to drive more business into regular strip clubs. Eventually the rubes on the mailing list will catch on, but go yee forth I suppose.

At least Jenny of Rosewood is straightforward about what she's doing on here. Good for her. I've always been a big proponent of more active dancer and club manager participation so long as they are open about it and try to give us reasons to visit them.

Looks like someone got a hold of the Lido's contact email list, whether it's really Lido operating it or not.

Maybe it's not Lido operating it. It could be an imposter not affiliated with the stripclub selling entrance cover to a stripclub, and if that's the case; is it okay?
