Is stripping sex work ?

If a dancer does not do-extras/have-sex with custies and just does 2-way contact dances with no FIV, is that sex work although "perhaps" by definition she's not having sex.

Yes. If the guy is getting aroused or she is trying to arouse him.

Is posing nude for soft core porn shoots or videos with or without masturbation sex work? I think it is. So is phone sex, although i don't see ads for that anymore. "Adult" work sounds so much more boring anyway, stupid even...

I consider stripping sex work along with camming, phone sex, escorting, sugar babies. But to me sex work=sex industry. Doesn't have to involve sex acts.

At the end of the day, a stripper (even an Orlando air dancer) makes money because the customer wants to fuck. Or at least the illusion of doing so if the customer wouldn’t actually do that for whatever reason.

It’s an umbrella term we face the same stigma escorts and other sex workers face.

^ that's exactly why I consider stripping the sex industry lol

Wikipedia - "A sex worker is a person who is employed in the sex industry.[1][2] The term is used in reference to all those in all areas of the sex industry including those who provide direct sexual services as well as the staff and management of such industries."

    So Yes.

    Technically it is not.

While there may be sex in the VIP rooms it is not a part of the job description, hence the term "extras".

Going by the logic of those who invented the concept of "Sex Work", yes it is, even zero touching stage only stripping.

I have a female friend who calls Viet Coffee and Breastaurants "Beauty Work". So that is where she draws the line, that is not actually Sex Work.

I think sex workers want their term to be inclusive. They want to prevent Good Girls vs Bad Girls type dichotomies. They don't want women saying, while I am a stripper, but she is a prostitute.

I don't know why so many people trash wikipedia! My teachers don't allow it to be used as a source but whenever I'm writing papers, I always end up using Wikipedia but use the sources that they used and my teachers can never tell the difference.

The main issue with Wikipedia is that anyone can make changes, so that compromises the information. As long as you’re not citing Wikipedia as your source and are actually following up on the information it’s a good starting point.

So true. One time I was reading the Led Zeppelin Wikipedia page and someone had altered to it state Abraham Lincoln was Led Zep's lead guitarist. The edit disappeared a day later but it demonstrates the compromised info issue.

A couple years ago Daniel Tosh invited his fans to make up shit on his page. It was hysterical.

Sex work is supposed to unite all such persons, women and men, involved in any related type of work.
