Counterfeit Money, First Brush With It

Avatar for san_jose_guy
san_jose_guymoney was invented for handing to women, but buying dances is a chump's game

2x $20 bills.

They came in through an anonymous channel.

When I first picked them up, I got a funny feeling about them. I never even thought of them being counterfeit. I just though they were highly worn, and maybe water damaged.

The color was off, lots of purple showing. And the paper was really soft.

But others were certain they were counterfeit. They spotted them at once. They also tested them with one of those pens.

They said to turn them in to police. I offered that they take them or that they witness my destroying them. They declined.

I consulted with my personal security expert. He said the bills were obvious. Slightly too small, irregular borders, and paper just wrong.

He said I could turn them into a bank. And he said that in large retail chains they just forward them to their own bank.

I am told that real money has paper with no acid, hence the test pen mark turns to gold and then just vanishes.

Real money can go through the washer and drier 3 times and still hold together.

Fake money ages very quickly, whereas real money lasts a long time.

So I walked into a bank, one I do not use, and I turned them in. They were happy to accept them and did not ask questions, make any report, or ask me my name.

I bet strippers are the experts in spotting fake money.

get a 365 nm black light pen....you can check bills in the dark...works best on 10's 20's 50's
I get a ton of cash for bitcoin...I've only gotten about 7 counterfeit notes in nearly 5 years.
the ones I got were all supernotes.....($100 that look very real)...only tells were slightly off center borders and the watermark was very weak..
when i count 100's I shine a light from behind now to see the watermarks...
you can mail them yourself to the secret service for verification. If they are legit, they will send them back lol.

They were worn and colors were changing. I had a funny feeling about them, but it never entered my head that they were fake. I thought they were just worn.

But I am told now that fake money wears very quickly.

It's not paper. It's cloth. 25% linen and 75% cotton.

SJG is a master of overstatement -

He had the bills tested using one of those pens.

He offered for his colleagues to bring the bills to the police department - but they declined.

Simply put - SJG’s buddy - who failed the police department entry exam - ran a highlighter over the suspect bills. Since his buddy has active warrants for public exposure - he declined to set foot in the police department.
He had his personal security expert look at them.

Off center border means little. More bills are not centered when cut than are.

No, these bills were bad, when looked at closely and compared to real money. I am told that real money will still hold together going three times through the washer and drier.

But with this counterfeit money, most of it, the paper shrinks. That the paper felt wrong was the first thing to set me off about it. Too soft. But I never though fake, I just felt it was worn, and probably had been exposed to water.

And for RickTheLion, what the financial elite does is set up a system and convince people that it is fair, when in fact it is nothing of the sort. But they are able to continually increase the wealth gap, while claiming that they deserve this.
