I knew a guy who was an apartment manager who would rent to women whom he thought would 'put out'.
He was encouraging people to pay their rent in cash, then he would cook the books and scam the owner.
Finally he was charged with embezzlement of $13k, and then he split. Sounds like he also had a gambling addiction. He ended up serving some months in jail.
When I first heard that he had been renting to women he though would put out, I was skeptical. Then someone else told me of his book cooking that he was "trying to help the ladies".
Seeing my quizzical face, the speaker clarified, "single mothers".
So I feel that at the bottom tier of the rental market, things are pretty screwy. There have been young women who serviced guys regularly, and in that neighborhood a few service providers, and one who as living in her van.
Remember that in the movie Soylent Green, they refer to a woman who comes with the apartment as 'furniture'. She will service you, and your friends as you like.
Today a stripper told me that she had slept in her car the last 2 nights because she lost her apartment over money issues. She asked if I had a GF and if she could stay with me. I told her no GF and changed the subject. I'm sure that sex would have been involved but I damn sure don't want to get involved with a broke stripper.
