Review titles.

Review titles are a fairly recent change in format and you cannot submit a review with out one. However I just noticed that very old reviews also show a topic now and I know they were not submitted that way. So how and by who did a title get selected?

I "think" it uses the first few words of the review as the default for the title if it doesn't have one

I'm at a loss then - I thought I had seen some reviews where the title was the first few words of the review but maybe that was done by the reviewer?

Not been around anywhere near as you guys but I do distinctly remember providing a title way back and thinking, "why the hell am I providing a title" when they weren't being utilized. Later, even the older reviews had my titles I provided.

^ oh yeah - now that I recall there was a "Title Box" b/f but the title wouldn't show; I don't recall if it was mandatory though to put a title even though it didn't display once the review was published - maybe most people still put a title and the ones that didn't would get the first few words of the review as the default?

I started requesting titles long before I showed them. I think they're helpful to summing up a review.

    ^ thanks founder

I guess titles were requested all along (at least for a good-while) but just didn't display b/f

Well, I posted a review a few weeks ago for the Filly Corral in Smithton, PA, and now every time I go back to it (to read a comment someone has left), it has a different title!

The one I posted with it originally (a really long one) is still visible in all caps below the "new" title (unbolded), but each time the title (in bold) is an excerpt from something I wrote in the review. Not complaining, but just curious as hell as to why this is. Maybe it's because the title I chose is just too damn long. (For those without VIP access, this was a review that Papi turned into a discussion: https://www.tuscl.net/?page=post&id=5257…)

It still doesn't explain why this review I submitted 7 years ago has a title on it.

Looks like it pulled the title from one of your sentences a couple of paragraphs down.

The title on the review I pointed out above for the Goldrush has now changed from what it was yesterday.

Looks like some type of "ai" writing the headline when there isn't one.
