Just encase no one hear has heard. If you use it check the version you run and update it. I was hacked and had malicious code injected into it.

I need to work on my english and eye site. hear = here "I was hacked", = "It was hacked."
Only time I have used the software was to complete a task and then remove it.
I had adopted a WAIT AND SEE approach after July when Avast aquired them. Glad that I followed my gut there.
Well, there's nothing to say it couldn't have also happened when they were separate from Avast. But I know what you mean.
It's a shame. It's the best software available -- that I know of -- for someone who wanted a free solution.
The hack occurred on August 15. If you've had the software on your Windows PC from then to today, then update the CCleaner software immediately and perform a detailed malware scan of your system.
