PSA CCLEANER has been hacked.

The hack occurred on August 15. If you've had the software on your Windows PC from then to today, then update the CCleaner software immediately and perform a detailed malware scan of your system.

Only time I have used the software was to complete a task and then remove it.

I had adopted a WAIT AND SEE approach after July when Avast aquired them. Glad that I followed my gut there.

Well, there's nothing to say it couldn't have also happened when they were separate from Avast. But I know what you mean.

It's a shame. It's the best software available -- that I know of -- for someone who wanted a free solution.
