Do you know what businesses open right after a hurricane in Florida

I had occasion to see a friend from south Florida shortly after Andrew and when I asked how the rebuilding was going he told me that businesses were reopening:
First: the gas station/convenience stores open because they serve the immediate needs for gas and food plus they all have cash machines
Second: the bars open to serve the hordes of workers that swarmed to the area
Third: the Strip clubs opened to service the hordes of workers with a lot of pocket money with no where to spend it.
Followed sometime later by the rest of the businesses: Hardware, lumberyards, banks, fast food etc.
He also said that the strip clubs were lots of fun because as long as there were no complaints or brawls the cops had better things to do.

I don't know about TX.

I remember reading that after Katrina how at the New Orleans strip clubs were cashing in the FIMA relief debit cards, usually for 25 cents on the dollar. Our tax money at work.

After Andrew, Porky's in Hialeah was only closed for one day and then opened even though they had no power. They allowed BYOB and let's just say the rules were quite relaxed as you couldn't see much of anything.

I had almost forgotten about that, but now I'm starting to miss Pamela.
