Non-dancers banking on tips ?

Miami, FL (or the nearest big-booty club)

Seems to me in certain clubs certain staff can make very good $$$ from tips alone; e.g.:

* Tootsies Miami is a huge club that can hold hundreds of people - the girl that takes the cover will almost always get tipped a buck (some may tip a bit more) - on a good night I would think she can process 200 or 300 PLs if not more (since the club closes late at 6 a.m.) - that's 200 or 300 bucks if not more *just* in tips - multiply that by 5-nights/wk and she can probably clear $1k+ per wk on tips alone ($50k+ per year) - and that may be coservative but IDK for sure

* Detroit upscale clubs - take Penthouse for example - seems it's fairly common for the "VIP host" to often get tipped $10 to $20 - on a busy night I can see that guy clearing $1k if not more just in tips all he does is "not look in" and show you to your dance-booth

* Inner Room Cocoa Beach - post ownership change I think the girls are required to have their hair and make-up done by the in-house lady - I think it's $10 just for hair and $20 for hair-and-makeup - multiply that by 20+ dancers and she easily clears a couple of hundred per shit which many dancers would be happy w/ in this $10/dance no-VIP dive

Last week I found out that @IR they need to have hair and make up done, not necessarily in-house. But I'm sure the lazy one's have her do it.

Yeah, she's making bank.

At some clubs each girl has to tip various staff, sometimes a set amount and sometimes based upon what they made that night. This can add up to a bunch of money at a big club on a busy night.

Yep, back in the 90's my GF (for lack of better term) had to tip the DJ, bouncer, and bartenders $10 each ($20 each on Friday and Saturday). There were some Mondays that she would have to extend her shift in order to not go home in the red.

In some popular ( non strip ) night clubs in Vegas and LA, the doorman can make HUGE money.

In the clubs I visit regularly the DJs make a ton of money because the dancers have to tip them out. Dancers also tip house moms, bouncers, bar tenders, and valets. Dancers complain to me that after tipping out all the non-dancers they don't have much left for themselves.

Oh yeah the DJ - typical tipout I think is around 10-bucks - Tootsies can have 100 dancers on a weekend eve.

I dj'ed at a club here in Phoenix over one summer. I just played the music, my buddy who got me the gig did all the Mic work (he acted like a hype man). I got $5 per girl on tip out. So it all depended on how many girls were working that night how much I made. The more dancers the better for me. But I could make $150 on a good night. Nice pocket change for hanging out with naked chicks all night.

I tipped a waitress $3 for a $7 drink at Criket. She thanked me nicely and went on to say how she gets no other pay than her tips. I got the impression that a lot of customers are less than generous.

People that make great money are rarely the best tippers from what I have been told.

Too late to the discussion again... in my experience, the cover girl almost never gets tipped no matter how good she looks. Unless, she was making change by giving a lot of singles back, i don't ever throw her anything as she hasn't done anything but sit pretty and charge me a fee to get in.

The floor hosts only seem to get big money from robbing customers and dancers when they do VIP rooms. Otherwise not so much.

Most dancers try to avoid the house mom (do their own makeup and hair), but are still supposed to throw her a bone like the DJ, but not as much.

VIP waitresses often gets big tips just because a customer spends an hour or so in a VIP room regardless of how much the waitress actually sold which is to me the biggest rip off. i don't know why she feels like she's entitled to a percentage of the hourly rate a customer spends with a girl.
