For a long time now, especially after the 911 / 2001 security increases, I've felt that no one who doesn't have to would ever travel on commercial flights.
That Asian-American doctor will be very lucky if he does not end up in federal prison.
Better to follow the example of Ryan Bowen and ride a bicycle across the country. Even in January he did it, staying close to the Mexican border. Averaging over 100 miles per day and consuming 7000 calories in order to maintain body weight.
I prefer mechanical disc brakes, as they are easier to maintain. Hydraulic might brake harder and they like them for off road competitions, but I still like mechanical disc.
Dynamic Shaft Drive / Gear Hub, much better in my view when you are talking about like 15k miles per year. Chains and gears don't really go that far, and they can be expensive.
And see the folding bike at the sail boat dock, people thinking just like me. For sail boats and for general aviation.
Seriously, gear cluster, and front sprocket replacement is a constant thing if you go high mileage, and chains last even less miles. And the old friction shift systems were nicer than these new indexed shift gimmicky systems.
So the best today is gear hub shaft drive. Caliper brakes for skinny tires, mechanical disc brakes for tires a bit thicker for carrying loads, and especially for all weather.
It was reported today the guy had a broken-nose; a concussion; and two knocked out teeth.
And I don't wanna here no shit of "well - that's what you get for not obeying the police" - that's not a fucking excuse and it's fucking abuse of power - it was 3-young police officers against a 60+ y/o skinny Asian grandpa that from what I've seen never assaulted the officers - the officers just did what many of them do; whatever the fuck they want b/c they are the cops
You enter that airport it is like you are entering a prison. They hold people on stationary aircraft for hours and hours and hours until they go crazy.
That doctor will be very lucky if he does not face federal charges.
Here Papi, you live in Florida, have a Marlow-Hunter 31, on me. marlow-hunter.com
I saw the airline training video a long long time ago. I wasn't joking about them being old school. They probably wouldn't have changed anything with the airlines if 911 hadn't screwed all that up. I am glad they banned smoking on airplanes,

On skateboards the wheels are too small. I like bicycles, and with 700C size wheels.
Gear hub road bike:

They also make gear hub, shaft drive, disc brake commute bikes. Excellent for all weather and extreme annual mileage.

Disc brakes good for rain, but also when you have a little bit more tire and when you might have some load with you.

I guess the air lines are old school. Knock out his teeth if he doesn't give up his seat.
I don't remember flying anywhere since 911. Knocking on wood now.

I hope the doctor wins the proposed case his attorneys may be filing.

And while this guy was already rich, he is about to get a lot richer. So are his lawyers if they have it on a contingency.
